As part of capacity building of Village Level Entrepreneurs to ensure the adoption of technologies in rural communities, Innovation Guild facilitated a 5 day training program in partnership with Southern Region Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institute (SRFMT&TI), Tractor Nagar, Anantapur. A total of 9 VLEs were trained on Repair and Maintenance of Power Weeder and Brush Cutter to create hands-on experience for VE's, with an intent to carry out repair and maintenance of machinery in their community by setting up their own enterprise. As a result of the training, the VLEs learned to disassemble, assemble and troubleshoot a 5HP Kirloskar engine, 5HP Power weeder and Brush cutter which will help in providing daily inspection and day to day repair services for these technologies to the farmers. WASSANIndia's Innovation Guild and Millet Mentor Showcase at Samunnati's FPO Conclave 2024 WASSAN's Innovation Guild and Millet Mentor team participated in Samunnati's FPO Conclave 2024 held at Novotel Hyderabad on the 3rd & 4th of September 2024. The event brought together key stakeholders to explore avenues of collective action among farmers, FPOs, agri-businesses, & technical resource agencies to tackle sustainability challenges. Both the Innovation Guild and Millet Mentor platforms shared their initiatives, focusing on how FPOs can leverage these services to strengthen their operations in the millet sector and beyond. Several innovators associated with the Innovation Guild, including Nature Farmeasy, Navariti Innovation Pvt. Ltd., Ekthva Innovation Pvt. Ltd., Suryanirbhar Agritech LLP, AgroStudio Pvt. Ltd., Prakruthi Bull Driven Oil, Niyofarm Tech, and AEDAA Equipments Pvt. Ltd., showcased technologies and solutions designed to enhance agricultural practices and FPO capacity. This exhibition space was generously sponsored by the Rainmatter Foundation, a donor partner of WASSAN’s Innovation Guild.

We are pleased to share that the WASSAN India / Revitalising Rainfed Agriculture Network and ICAR - Central Institute Of Agricultural Engineering, Bhopal, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the utilization of animal energy (Draft Animal Systems). Both sides will work closely together to produce a national-level program and submit it to the Animal Husbandry Department over the course of the next five years. Furthermore, CIAE will make its technologies accessible via the Innovation Guild website (https://innovationguild.in).

On February 26, 2024, the Revitalising Rainfed Agriculture Network and the Innovation Guild hosted a virtual demonstration day. Dr. M. Din, the former coordinator of the All-India Coordination Research Project on Utilization of Animal Energy, gave the keynote address and presented demonstrations of about thirteen different types of implements under four different operations categories. In addition to viewing the speaker in the aforementioned webinar, sixty-five people participated in online surveys at the end of each category to indicate their interest in particular 🐮 animal-drawn tools. 🌾 🎥 Check out the recorded version of the video 👇
