What do you consider when choosing a career? Wage, benefits, skills, opportunity for growth, and…culture are all parts of choosing a job. Part of JA’s work is ensuring students are prepared to meet opportunities that await them after graduation, which includes determining what’s important to them in a work environment. Partners like Unum, who host students for job shadows and let them partake in team building activities plants the seed to consider aspects of career choice they may not have considered. (Also - when you’re at Unum, try and find the ducks! 🦆)

Why is volunteering as a company important? Volunteering... . ✔Brings teams closer together. ✔Instills confidence in students. ✔Showcases career pathways in Maine. ✔Highlights your company and opportunities within it to Maine students. ✔Teaches students real-world skills. . As a partner and volunteer team, Evergreen Credit Union can attest, the value of volunteering goes both ways - and sometimes it's the volunteers who end up taking more from a JA learning experience than the students!
