It was such fun to host this event with Poker Power and friends of Brunswick Group. As a poker novice it was a fun environment to learn the game, but also great to have an open discussion about how some of the key skills in poker are effective in the workplace. I think we all left feeling a little more empowered - and grateful we weren't playing with real money.
Last week, Brunswick Group was thrilled to partner with Poker Power to bring together a community of women business leaders of various sectors throughout NYC. Poker Power, co-founded by Jenny Just, has a mission to empower women through the game of poker, demonstrating how skills at the table map to the business world. Thank you to everyone who joined us for a fantastic evening, and to our wonderful poker instructors for their insightful teachings.

This week, your goal is to take one calculated risk! Taking risks can be daunting, but it's often the key to unlocking new opportunities and personal growth. These inspiring women remind us that stepping out of our comfort zones can lead to incredible achievements. #MondayMotivation What does your next risk look like?

We aren't doing Sunday scaries anymore. Remember, early failures are stepping stones to future success. Let's tackle this week with confidence and purpose. Use it as an opportunity to grow and learn—transform potential setbacks into strength. Jenny Just's quote from her interview with Her First $100K is our mantra at Poker Power. Poker teaches valuable lessons about calculated risk-taking that can directly apply to your career. You aren't going to know everyones' cards at the table, so take the calculated risk and bet on yourself.

Leveling up at the Women in Hospitality Conference! 🃏 Our team joined inspiring women from all parts of the hospitality industry in a day of seminars and breakout sessions hosted by the Delaware Restaurant Association. Our founder, Jenny Just, was invited to the stage as a keynote speaker, where she shared her journey and how learning poker can empower women+ in their careers and daily lives. Afterwards, Poker Power had an amazing poker workshop with tons of "aha" moments. Big thank you to the Delaware Restaurant Association for inviting us. We built connections and challenged the norms. Here's to playing life differently!

Poker has officially been recognized as a mind sport by the International Mind Sports Association (IMSA)! This milestone paves the way for new opportunities and respect for the game. But, we knew that already. 😏 Poker is more than just a game of chance; it's a sport of strategy, skill, patience, and mental resilience. It helps you build the skills you need in your career and daily life. Read the full story from the World Poker Federation: https://bit.ly/3CA7uWx

In poker, like in your career, the game isn’t static. You must adapt, rethink strategies, and pivot when necessary. Taking risks and making daring decisions at the poker table can be a powerful lesson for your professional life. It teaches you to assess situations quickly, trust your instincts, and make confident choices—even when you don't have all the information. Remember, every great player knows that a successful hand sometimes comes from an unexpected pivot. Key Takeaway: Embrace the ability to pivot as a strength. Your career isn't set in stone, and neither are your options in poker. Learn to read the table, anticipate changes, and move with purpose. You might just find new avenues of success you've never imagined! Repost: beckyminkoff (Instagram)
