Founded in 2015 with locations in Florida and California, Leadsun USA specializes in outdoor public lighting using grid-free solar technologies. Whether it’s lighting up residential communities or contemporary sculptures, Leadsun provides customized solutions to local governments and other organizations for a wide variety of public lighting applications. What we do: With an ongoing focus and commitment to sustainability, we have over 30 patents (including the world’s first all-in-one solar light) to ensure we provide our customers with the most intelligent, contemporary, and easy to install solar powered lighting. Our products are coupled with consulting, engineering, and project administration to give our customers end-to-end solutions they can depend on. Why we do it: Our mission is to help people, particularly the most vulnerable, feel safe and be safe in public spaces through the (solar) power of light. Our lights are Dark Sky certified, and we work to the highest standards demanded from our customers, the environment, and the community. Our team: Led by Managing Director Matt Pollard, our senior staff hold qualifications across various disciplines including business administration, project management, and electrical & electronic engineering. Earlier this year we installed solar powered lighting in bus shelters around Cal Poly Pomona to improve safety and visibility for students and staff commuting home from the University at night. The project was not without its challenges. We had to retrofit the existing bus shelters with our own custom designed brackets so our solar powered lighting systems could be installed.
