WHO ARE WE Altogether, the committee is comprised of fifteen young members from all areas of the Marine and Energy insurance market. We have representatives from managing agents, brokers and law firms, with our members being employed in underwriting, claims, broking and the legal profession. A massive thank you to George Begley, Nicholas Sykes & Andrew Norris for their roles in hosting the Energy U35's for part of the Singapore leg of the trip. An informative presentation from Andrew Norris on renewables and the energy transition followed by an educational piece from Nicholas Sykes on some of the legal issues that the renewables sector is currently seeing kept the group engaged despite an overnight sleeper flight from Dubai! Additional thanks to the DNV and OSKEFER Consulting teams for hosting us in the afternoon and giving us a tour around their testing facility.

Last week we were given the fantastic opportunity to visit Mubarek and their yard in Dubai. Thank you to Hanine and the team for giving us an overview of their operations and a tour of one of the offshore support vessels.
ABL and Mubarak Group were delighted to assist in arranging a visit to Dubai for the Lloyd’s Marine & Energy Under 35 Group. The aim of the Under 35 Group is to promote education and interest in all aspects of marine and energy insurance; to educate members of the marine and energy insurance market; and to facilitate networking and interaction between members of the market. We hosted 18 members of the Under 35 Group at our facilities in Dubai Maritime City and showed the delegates presentations on our salvage and offshore marine engineering projects, followed by tours of our offshore accommodation barge Millennium 2, our 400-ton crane barge Al Amlaq, and our crane barge Badr. The delegates were excited to be able to physically go onboard marine assets which they would not normally be able to do in their day-to-day work in their offices at Lloyd’s and in the City of London. A big thank you to all our speakers today at the ‘Sustainability in the Arts: Time to Ask the Experts’ conference, jointly organised by Lloyd's Marine & Energy Under 35s Group, Liberty Specialty Markets and ROKBOX 🌍 🖼️ We heard from Harriet Powell, Andrew Stramentov & Verity Brown who are revolutionising the way art is shipped and stored around the world with ROKBOX Kate Brownbill (Pace Gallery)and Hannah Wright (Thomas Dane Gallery) discussed how they are leading the charge with how galleries are looking to ‘green’ policies in a fast-paced and competitive industry. Victor Khureya MBA (Gander & White Shipping), Sophia Lesser (Dietl) & Graham Bence (Crozier Fine Arts) spoke about the expertise shoppers and packers can offer in this space with alternative methods. Charlie Heathcote (Lloyd's) & Alex Hindson (Crowe) discussed the insurance world’s transition to a low carbon economy and the challenges we face. And Heath Lowndes (Gallery Climate Coalition (GCC)) spoke about all the fantastic work the GCC is doing to educate and empower the industry to reduce its environmental impact. Dominique will introduce Sedgwick Nantes and their experience in dealing with racing vessels. The presentation will provide a full picture of the technical aspects of this niche sector, looking at the construction and stability basics of racing vessels, the types of casualties that these vessels are prone to, how damage assessments are carried out and a review of recent cases Sedgwick Nantes have been involved in.
