Today, we had the privilege of speaking to the talented students in the Power Line Worker Program at South Louisiana Community College. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to Kevin Benoit for inviting us to share a damage prevention presentation with this eager and engaged group. The students asked insightful questions, showing their commitment to understanding the importance of safety and responsibility when working around utilities. A big shoutout to our special guest, Molly Avery with Virginia 811 (Virginia Utility Protection Service, Inc), for joining me and adding tremendous value to the presentation. Her expertise and dedication to damage prevention are truly inspiring. I’d also like to thank our incredible partner, Chuck from Atmos Energy, for helping explain the dangers of working around gas utilities. His knowledge and support ensured these future power line workers gained a deeper understanding of the critical precautions they must take on the job. Together, we’re proud to spread awareness of Common Ground Alliance Best Practices, ensuring a safer future for all. #eatsleepdamagepreventionrepeat #call811 #leadership #habits #mistakes #safetyculture #damageprevention

When an excavator contacts 811, we use our mapping software to notify the appropriate utility or locating companies to mark the lines at the work site. It’s a team effort to make sure your digging project is set up for safety. #811BeforeYouDig #SafetyFirst #UtilityLocator
