Good news — contacting 811 is FREE! There’s no charge for marking public utility lines. However, if you have private lines (like a sprinkler or invisible fence), you may need to hire a private locator, which could have a fee. Regardless of the cost, ensuring ALL lines are marked is critical for safe digging.
