Such a great dialogue with Representative Laurell Lee’s staff this morning, discussing the importance of protecting federal nutrition assistance programs. I had the pleasure of starting the day at this morning's Love INC of Metro Tampa semi-annual breakfast at The Portico. We heard the moving story of my friend, Jerome, who has gone from being homeless to working at The Portico Cafe, finding a place to live through Portico Housing Solutions and soon moving into his own apartment. We heard about how the power of Love INC's dental assistance program helped him become more confident by providing him with expensive dental procedures. Above all, we learned how Love INC of Metro Tampa assists more than 300 families and individuals each through the combined efforts of 16 local churches and an army of volunteers. Their programs help people find homes, get medical assistance and learn how to help themselves through the love of those in our community. Thank you for all you do Chalette Davis.
