The top sales talent you’re searching for has probably already existed in your organization, at one time- whether you recognized it or not.
Over the holidays, I had the chance to spend some time with kiddos. We were playing a game when I said a "big" word that one of the kids didn’t recognize.
“What does that mean?” he asked his mom.
“No idea, sweetie. You’re so cute,” she replied, with a smile.
Then, in a moment of humor, she leaned over to my ear and whispered, “Don’t teach them too many words—they’ll be smarter than me!”
Me, being a former English teacher, I taught them anyways LOL
A couple of hours later, one of the boys used the word in a conversation.
And he used it flawlessly- I nearly choked on my Diet Coke.
He smiled at me, his face filled with pride.
“What other words do you know?” he asked, wide-eyed and full of wonder.

Sales reps, eager to grow and improve their skills, are often met with responses that dismiss their desire for learning.
💥 As an owner, when you choose to not invest in sales development for your sales team- you're ultimately saying: 💥
"sales development is a waste of time and resources."
And for hungry sales reps - the learning stops there, when their curiosity goes unrecognized.
As leaders it’s not about having all the answers—it’s about staying curious, pushing ourselves, and committing to growth.
Because guess who's watching.
If you're the owner of a company and you're constantly saying things like:
"We keep losing top talent, they're being offered more money"
"No one wants to work hard anymore."
"We are looking everywhere for top sales talent, but we can't find it"
You might want to consider something.
Could it be that...you already found them??
But you didn't have the tools to develop them, or keep them??
We all have a curious child inside of us, begging to learn about the things that bring us joy.
Your worry as an owner or a leader shouldn't be
"What if they become smarter than me?"
Your worry should be....what if they don't?
For the love of sales,
💗 TMH
