𝗛𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗖 𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗥𝗘𝗚𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗪𝗧𝗛: 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗝𝗢𝗛𝗢𝗥-𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗢𝗠𝗜𝗖 𝗭𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗔𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 Today marks a historic moment for Malaysia and Singapore with the signing of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) Agreement. This initiative reflects the deep and strong bond between the two nations, built on mutual respect and shared aspirations. The JS-SEZ is a rare and unique collaboration—two neighboring countries joining forces as one team to promote and attract global investments. Through this agreement, Malaysia and Singapore combine their respective strengths to develop a special economic zone. Malaysia’s extensive land resources and industrial base complement Singapore’s technological expertise and financial networks, positioning the JS-SEZ as one of the world’s most attractive investment destinations. The agreement encompasses nine strategic areas: Johor Bahru City Centre, Iskandar Puteri, Tanjung Pelepas-Tanjung Bin, Pasir Gudang, Senai-Skudai, Sedenak, Forest City, Pengerang, and Desaru. These areas provide opportunities for businesses across 11 key sectors, including manufacturing, logistics, energy, as well as the digital and green economies. This partnership underscores the immense potential that can be unlocked when two nations work together. Through aligned efforts, Malaysia and Singapore aim to attract innovative investments, create 20,000 high-skilled jobs, and implement 100 high-impact projects over the next decade. The message to the world is clear: Malaysia and Singapore are committed to providing a stable and progressive investment environment. What makes the JS-SEZ truly exceptional is that it goes beyond a bilateral agreement. It embodies a shared vision to extend this spirit of collaboration to the wider region and ASEAN. The JS-SEZ offers a model of economic partnership that not only strengthens the positions of both nations but also enhances Southeast Asia’s competitiveness on the global stage. Through the JS-SEZ, Malaysia and Singapore are setting a new benchmark for economic cooperation, emphasizing unity, innovation, and ambition. This agreement is not just a document but a roadmap for collective prosperity. May this endeavor bring shared blessings and deliver substantial economic benefits to the people of Malaysia and Johor.
