The MCAA Annual Conference 2024 has officially come to an end! Thank you to everyone who joined us onsite and online to celebrate the ten year anniversary of the #MCAA and to discuss issues ranging from career development and academic life to collaboration across sectors and disciplines. We couldn't be more excited to build the next decade of the association together with all of you! The first day of the MCAA Annual Conference yesterday included sessions on a vast array of topics, including... 🗣 #CitizenScience 🌿 Actions taken to advance sustainability in European R&I 🎓 Value and future of #alumni organisations ⚖ Family-career balance 🌎 Experiences of #MSCA fellows outside Europe ...and much, much more. Thank you to everyone participating onsite and online, we are ready to continue with the second day of the #MCAAConf2024!

Today marks the launch of PEP-CV, a free and open peer-mentorship exchange platform to connect mentors and mentees for developing and writing narrative-style CVs 📝 The platform was presented at the #MCAAConf2024 by Sean Sapcariu and Pooja Khurana, Ph.D. The initiative, hosted by the MCAA, is a collaboration between two research groups (the MCAA and the Young Academy of Europe) and six funding agencies (Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR), NWO (Dutch Research Council), Science Foundation Ireland, SNSF Swiss National Science Foundation, UK Research and Innovation, Wellcome Trust). PEP-CV is in line with ongoing responsible research assessment initiatives such as DORA and CoARA, supplementing existing guidance and resources to help people improve their narrative-style CV. The MCAA Annual Conference 2024 has officially started 🎊 🎤 Our Chair Fernanda Bajanca opened the conference with welcoming words: “Over the past 10 years the #MCAA has evolved into a vibrant and dynamic community with over 21,000 members. I thank all of you for being a part of this incredible journey.” 🎤 We also saw a video speech from the Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth Iliana Ivanova from the European Commission: “I envision the MCAA growing into an even more influential association. The outcomes of the discussions of these days will provide invaluable input for work in the areas of research and innovation.” 🎤 The rector of Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, Giovanna Iovannantuoni, welcomes the MCAA Annual Conference audience to Milan.
