About us
Marubeni Citizen-Cincom was founded in 1984 to market and service Citizen’s CINCOM family of Swiss-type turning centers. This venture represents the amalgamation of two of Japan’s largest and most highly regarded companies, Marubeni Corporation and Citizen Watch Company. Marubeni began operation more than 140 years ago as a rural trading company specializing in yarn and textiles. Today it is one of Japan’s nine largest trading companies, which together account for more than 40% of Japan’s exports and 60% of its imports. It actively trades more than 30,000 products and services, including textiles, chemicals, machinery, energy, and a broad spectrum of consumer products. It employs more than 10,000 people, maintains almost 200 offices in 82 countries, and generates revenues of $79 billion annually. Citizen is best known as the manufacturer of high-precision timepieces, including the smallest watch, the thinnest watch, and the most accurate watch available today. Its expertise, however, extends beyond watch manufacture and includes television sets, office equipment, computers, and audio-visual equipment. The company’s vertical integration has led also to the development of advanced production equipment. Among these are the highly precise, highly versatile Swiss-type turning centers known in the trade as CINCOM (CItizen Numerically Machines). Since its inception, MCC has successfully made CINCOM machines the most widely accepted Swiss-type turning centers in the world. These machines are used extensively to manufacture an array of products, including medical instruments, electronics, fiber optics, automobiles, business machines, aerospace, defense, firearms, tools, valves, fasteners, and many others. In the US, MCC is headquartered in Allendale, NJ, and maintains sales/service offices in Massachusetts, CA, and Illinois. These four offices are responsible for supporting a network of distributors located throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico & South America.

Engineering at Vibeffect continues after the holidays! Today, the spring-less magnetic return system has been perfected for the physical pedal action. This system uses sets of rare earth magnets to replace springs, making a more durable guitar pedal and providing strong forces to resist foot pressure. The holidays gave us time to ponder about the last design issues, and we are in the home stretch of the first pedal offering. We are also pleased to have teamed up with reps and engineers from Microchip Technology Inc. which enables us to quickly roll out some advanced digital effects for future models. We continue working and tooling our Yamazen Inc. Brother Speedio milling machines and Marubeni Citizen-Cincom Inc. BNE Machining centers to crank out components for this new line. The tooling program itself has been extensive. The initial units are machined from billet aluminum and use custom knobs, screws, and round components that are vertically manufactured. If we didn’t have this capability in-house, it would be difficult to refine the design's physical aspects. The design has already undergone hundreds of physical revisions (over 350), as we want to get the platform correct out of the gate.
