Is solar infrastructure about to become more farm-friendly in #Maryland? Baltimore County recently reviewed a proposal for a 23-acre agrivoltaics #solar project on a farm in Freeland, MD. If completed, this project would be the first of its kind to be built in Maryland, potentially revolutionizing the way solar infrastructure and agricultural production interact with one another. Increasing in popularity, #agrivoltaics use varied heights and row spacing to allow for sunlight to reach crops and farm equipment to harvest. By adopting this technology, farmers can build energy-generating solar infrastructure without sacrificing agricultural production. This will be one to keep an eye on!
