Maryland’s transit investments are paying off! According to a new economic impact report, the Maryland Transit Administration contributes more than $1.7 billion in GDP each year for the State and supports more than 9,600 jobs. Governor Wes Moore and MDOT’s proposed budget calls for $420 million annually in new additional transportation funding. The additional dollars will ensure all federal funds are fully leveraged, including MTA Maryland’s $213 million Federal Transit Administration grant to buy new light rail vehicles and rehabilitate the current light rail system. Gov. Moore and Transportation Sec. Paul Wiedefeld attended a meeting on Thursday to showcase transportation’s effect on our state. Thank you to the Greater Washington Partnership for spearheading this report and highlighting how transit investments grow Maryland’s economy. Read the report here: https://ow.ly/SAQx50UMNMW
