As 2024 draws to a close we reflect on our achievements over 2024 made possible by your generosity: In Ghana Over 130 women received treatment for their childbirth injuries at Mercy Fistula Center in Mankessim this 2024. The center is undergoing an upgrade and capacity expansion thanks to a grant from MHF. The first round of surgeries for 2025 is scheduled for March 1st. Dr. Ganyaglo heads Urogynecology at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Ghana and chairs the National Fistula Task Force. In partnership with Dr. Ganyaglo and under his expert guidance, MHF is developing a unique fistula surgery training model, aiming to expand capacity at Mercy Women’s Catholic Hospital, Fistula Unit, and across Ghana. 🌟 Championing Women’s Health 🌟 Recently, Dr. Ganyaglo and a team of doctors performed dozens of fistula surgeries, transforming the lives of many women who have suffered for years, and some for decades. On May 23, 2024, Dr. Ganyaglo emceed an inspiring event in Accra to commemorate International Day to End Obstetric Fistula (#IDEOF). The event also celebrated five resilient women who shared their stories of the life-changing care they received in their fight against fistula.
