2023, what a ride! As we see the year coming to an end, I will pause to reflect about my year tenure as the interim CEO of Eternal. First, it's been an honour to be the acting CEO this year. It is uncommon for a CFO to step up to the driving seat, and I want to thank Horacio Acerbo, who started the business, and the company board for trusting me to make the right calls even at difficult times. We were able to deliver results in exchange of that trust, that very few companies can claim. A short list below: - We won the 2nd phase of NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration deep space food challenge, ending ahead of amazing companies like Nature's Fynd. - We became finalists at the XPRIZE feed the next billion competition, putting us among only 5 companies able to create whole cut animal analogue (we are doing chicken breasts) with similar nutritional qualities and amazing flavour. - We scaled up our operation to start producing Mycofood® at a pace of hundreds of tons per month with as good a quality as what our labs achieved. - We kept investor confidence, even in an extremely adverse market, while the number of food companies trialing our ingredient kept growing by the day. My thanks to the team and supporters, Martín Blasco, Mark Fielding, Lucas Gago, Hernan Rodriguez, María Belén Bradanini, Julia Stanisz, Zafar Kanani, CFA, ACMA, CGMA, Pablo Facundo García, Generative Intelligence, Paola Díaz Dellavalle, Alejandro Antalich, Bingham and Jones, Marco Bertacca, Jim Laird, Celine Schiff-Deb, Sonny Chew, David Verbitsky, Joey van Koningsbruggen, Jason Fong, Methuselah Foundation, Pablo de León, Ph.D., Dane Gobel, Aito De la Rua, Phnam Bagley, ReLondon,Karl G., Bruce Singer CPA, CA, Paul Shapiro, Alex Shirazi, Jordan Giali, William Mounsey,Eero Vaara plus the many not on the list. LinkedIn is a bit too full of "humble bragging" but I am really proud this year I was able to work with amazingly smart people in making the world better. I am curious to see what new adventures 2024 brings, perhaps a project in low orbit, or new uses for artificial intelligence. If you are curious too, watch this space!

My take on the promising outlook of human relevant methodologies and #artificialintelligence for #drugdiscovery and development. There has never been a more critical need to accelerate medicines that work for patients. Our expansive mission at the Center for Contemporary Sciences to advance human, animal, and planetary health has taken me on a deep learning journey. It's been incredibly fulfilling for me this year to dive into the interconnectedness of human health to a larger ecosystem. I will write more on this and will feature thought leaders from diverse sectors in the new year, so keep an eye out! ➡ Learn more about CCS: contemporarysciences.org 🎁 Consider making an end of year gift of support: https://lnkd.in/ezrfWUEU #drugdevelopment #longevity #medicine #invitro #mps #organoids #tissueengineering #publichealth #biopharma #biopharmaceuticals #pharmaceutical #exponential #AI #deeplearning #generativeai #data #humanhealth #animalprotection #efficacy #toxicology https://lnkd.in/eYXQgdbg

This Monday at the 1st Biomarkers of Aging Symposium with Biomarkers of Aging Consortium we announced the #BioLearn, an open-source library for aging biomarkers! #BioLearn addresses inconsistencies in aging biomarker data, offering a unified framework for researchers. This tool is set to boost the validation and assessment of biomarkers for aging. Dive into the details: https://lnkd.in/gnqWjkZ9 I’m honored to be part of this work but the most of credit should go to Seth Paulson , Jesse Poganik, Mahdi Moqri , Vadim Gladyshev and other coauthors. We also thank the support of Biomarkers of Aging Consortium, Methuselah Foundation, Dane Gobel, and VoLo Foundation .
