Updates

  • Since moving into the Stockade Building in 2000, MYAC has been planning to build an educational concert hall. Our vision became part of the City of Highwood's Comprehensive Plan in 2013, before we purchased the land for this purpose. With over 100 concerts and events held each year and very few performance venues available, our students express how important an educational concert hall would be for their growth and development.

The Midwest Young Artists Conservatory was thrilled to host our annual Double Reed Festival this past Sunday! Over 40 bassoonists and oboists from all across Chicagoland took part in a full day of musical workshops, recitals, and the very special opportunity to perform in our Double Reed Choir, directed by Bill Buchman of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra! Special thanks to all of our participants and esteemed line up of clinicians for making this day possible, creating a wonderful and unique experience for the Double Reed community.
