A heartfelt thank you on this Giving Tuesday to the Siemer Family Foundation for their generous gift to Momentum Excellence! The Siemer Family Foundation, which is guided and informed by chairperson Barbara Siemer's career as a high school English teacher and her volunteer experiences benefiting children, is committed to improving educational opportunities for school age children in the central Ohio community. This gift will support Momentum's school-based programming which builds confidence, fosters creativity, and develops essential life skills in our students. Gifts like the Siemer Family Foundation's help ensure that the transformative experiences we offer are accessible to all children, regardless of their economic circumstances. We believe in the power of arts education and are grateful for our donors who support our mission! Please consider supporting Momentum this holiday season.

Exciting Staff update! Joe Peppercorn joins Momentum as Music Director, bringing extensive experience in musical direction, performance, and education. A respected figure in Columbus's arts community, Joe has served as Music Director and Organist at several institutions since 2000. His creative achievements include founding the acclaimed "Sgt Peppercorn's Marathon" (a 14-hour musical feat that even caught Sir Paul McCartney's attention!) and contributing music to award-nominated films. Joe's expertise in composition, direction, and collaborative arts programming will be invaluable to our growth. Fun fact: His music was featured in an Oscar-nominated film!

This week at Momentum-Excellence, we invited Karen Hewitt, M. Ed. to lead staff members in a workshop called Adaptive Strategies and Resilience: Building Capacity. Our team had the chance to learn about how adaptive strategies show up in both our personal and professional lives and how to regulate our nervous systems when needed. We discussed baseline agreements that we can implement in our office with a common language that moves us towards a more inclusive work environment. Thank you Karen for sharing your wealth of knowledge on this topic!
