Every woman should have equal access to cancer prevention, screening, and care, but this is not the reality yet. 🔙 In an article published by Euractiv earlier this year, MSD Senior Vice President, Louise Houson, highlighted the disparities women face in accessing cancer care in Europe and across the world. As a company committed to bringing quality cancer care to more women who need it, MSD collaborates with several initiatives and organizations around the world in an effort to ensure all women, regardless of where they are from, have the best possible chance of surviving cancer. 📰 Read it here: https://lnkd.in/eCqT3AxW #Throwback #Cancer #Oncology

A few weeks ago, our MSD team attended the European Cancer Organisation Summit, where we listened to powerful patient testimonials on the importance of HPV prevention. We also discussed challenges and opportunities across Europe, such as engaging healthcare professionals, community leaders, and ensuring political commitments. This year, we've seen remarkable progress with the Council recommendation to combat vaccine-preventable cancers and its implementation. More countries are committing to the elimination of cervical cancer, breaking down barriers to prevention, and using data to guide decision-making. 2025 is set to mark a pivotal year for health policy in the EU, with the potential to shape the future of healthcare for Europeans in the coming decades. Cancer prevention and care, in particular, should be at the top of the political agenda. #Throwback #CervicalCancer #CancerCare #EU
A powerful video message from Marcia Cross and Lillian Kreppel (HPVCancersAlliance) is resonating at the #PROTECTEUROPE showcase event. 🎥 Their heartfelt call for HPV awareness and action underscores the urgency of eliminating HPV-related cancers. Together, we can protect future generations and build a healthier world. Thank you, Marcia and Lillian, for inspiring us all! 🎉 #EU4Health #HPVelimination

Endometrial cancer prevention deserves a bigger spotlight in public health campaigns. 🔦 Nurses and healthcare professionals play a key role in promoting healthy habits - maintaining a balanced weight, adopting nutritious diets, and staying active - all essential steps to help reduce the risk of this cancer. 💡 Insights from a new report by IHE - The Swedish Institute for Health Economics, endorsed by EONS and ENGAGe, reveals that endometrial cancer doesn’t receive the focus it needs compared to other women’s cancers. The report calls for action to raise awareness and improve care, laying out key recommendations: 🎗️ Raise awareness ❤️🩹 Provide patient-centred support and information 🚑 Ensure optimal care delivery 🔬 Foster research 🟰 Reduce health disparities Read the full report, “Endometrial Cancer-Improving Care and Driving Policy Change” here: https://lnkd.in/dsXPUtaP #WomensCancers #EndometrialCancer

🩺 Early detection of endometrial cancer is a game-changer—for both patients and healthcare systems. When caught early, cancer care costs are significantly lower, with early-stage care costing half as much as late-stage care! As endometrial cancer rates rise, driven by increasing obesity rates, we need to prioritise prevention and early detection. These strategies not only save costs but, most importantly, improve patient outcomes. 💡✨ The recent study by IHE - The Swedish Institute for Health Economics (IHE) on “Endometrial Cancer-Improving Care and Driving Policy Change” emphasises the need for early detection to reduce costs, leading to less complex treatments and better outcomes for patients. 💡Read the full report, here: https://lnkd.in/dsXPUtaP #WomensCancers #EndometrialCancer #GynaecologicalCancer
