So many companies inflict damage to their own reputations when it comes to layoffs. And they really should know better. Really, everything you need to know about handling a layoff with grace...you learned in Kindergarten. 1. Play Fair – don’t label someone as an underperformer because it makes things easier for you. 2. Share – have a good and honest explanation as to why the person is being laid off. 3. Don’t hit people – physically or verbally. Individual conversations, handled with empathy – not mass zoom firings. I guess Meta didn’t do so well in Kindergarten.
