  • The National Hockey League (NHL) has revitalized its charitable foundations, the NHL Foundation™ in the U.S. (NHL Foundation U.S., Inc.) and Canada (NHL Foundation Canada.) The League’s philanthropic initiatives will continue to support organizations that make a positive social impact, while putting a greater emphasis on investing in those with best-in-class programs. The revitalized mission of the NHL Foundations is now built on five key pillars: youth development, health and well-being, social equity, pathways to hockey, and service. The youth development pillar focuses on initiatives that are dedicated to the social and emotional development of youth under 18. Under the health and well-being pillar, the NHL Foundations invest in programs that provide nutrition education and mental health resources. The social equity pillar puts inclusion at the forefront, with the NHL Foundations supporting organizations that are committed to combating racism, bullying prevention, and helping to reconnect disconnected communities. Under the pathway to hockey pillar, the NHL Foundations work with organizations that promote access to the game through educational and workforce development, and mentorship programs. And the service pillar supports brave and dedicated military members and first responders. Read more: https://lnkd.in/giHb8EEs

  • Meet Brendan Philbin, Manager, Venue Business & Analytics    In October 2017, Brendan Philbin, a lifetime sports fan and Stonehill College graduate, joined the NHL's Finance team. Brendan was thrilled to enter the competitive sports industry and found his passion for analytics during his time as a Royalty Analyst. After achieving his Master's degree, he pivoted roles within the finance department and now serves as Manager, Venue Business & Analytics.     Brendan and his team work directly with all 32 Clubs to share reporting, insights, and best practices on Venue Business, which focuses on the fan experience on game day, including food & beverage, guest experience, parking, and supporting the League's Premium Seating Sales & Service team. Brendan enjoys diving into the data for each game to understand and measure the fan experience throughout the season. He creates a variety of dynamic reports that are that are tailored for each Club so they can benchmark and compare their performance to the rest of the League. While Brendan loves to tell the story behind the data, his favorite part of the role is traveling on-site to meet with Clubs throughout the year.     One of Brendan's standout contributions was contributing to the launch of the NHL Venue Metrics platform. In collaboration with SAP, the project supports NHL Green and Venue Business initiatives to provide Clubs with the League's first standardized reporting for arena utilities like energy, water, and waste. Brendan's forward-looking approach is focused on continuing his work with Clubs to provide them with the most insightful data for success.    Join the League -> https://lnkd.in/eJYYc-gd   #NHLCareers #EmployeeSpotlight #HumansOverHighlights
