Our Founder, President and CEO Susana Navarro (middle) recently joined the Pellissippi State Foundation Board of Trustees. She will serve on the board for three or six years and it is comprised of 27 volunteer representatives across various local industries, community leaders and college donors. About the Pellissippi State Foundation: "The Pellissippi State Foundation makes a difference by building a network of generous supporters to help students, staff, and administration at Pellissippi State Community College achieve their educational, cultural, and service goals. The Foundation gained tax-exempt status as a 501 (c)(3) organization in 1983. The board of trustees—volunteer representatives from local industry, community leaders, and donors—governs the Foundation. The current board consists of 27 members serving a three or six year term. The new board class joins the Pellissippi State family during the College’s 50th Anniversary. The Foundation is honored to welcome Susana Navarro." -Anesia Rolen, Executive Director, Pellissippi State Foundation

Congratulations to our Navarro-ATL team on receiving their 3rd consecutive U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), VPP Superior Star Award! We are incredibly proud of the work they are doing and their commitment to safety at the Hanford 222s Laboratory and we love to see their dedication consistently recognized ⭐⭐⭐
Navarro-ATL has earned our third consecutive Department of Energy Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Superior Star Award, which was recently accepted by members of our team (Erin Swan and Megan Carreras) at the VPPPA 2024 Safety+Symposium in Aurora, Colorado. The VPP Superior Star Award is given to organizations that demonstrate a commitment to the five tenants of VPP (Management Leadership, Employee Involvement, Worksite Analysis, Hazard Prevention and Control and Safety & Health Training), outreach activities, and maintaining injury rates 50% below industry average. Achieving this award is not only reflective of our organizational safety culture, but also our commitment and dedication to working safely on a daily basis. 🏆 🙌 #NavarroATL #DOE #VPP #Safety

Navarro was a Premium Sponsor of the 3rd Annual Waste D&D Christmas for Families Golf Tournament in Idaho Falls, ID, where our team competed and even shot 14 under par! The sponsorship fees and any money raised from the tournament go directly towards the Christmas for Families Fund, which provides Christmas gifts and needed items such as clothes, shoes and hygiene products for children served by the United Way of Idaho Falls and Bonneville County. The fund also makes contributions towards food, utility bills, hospital bills etc, depending on the needs of the family's situation. Thank you to the Idaho team for representing us well! (L to R: Jim Barker (Vice President-Idaho Cleanup) and his wife, Dixie, Mike Gneiting and Doug McMahon)

There were engaging discussions, insightful panels and networking galore! What an incredible (and busy) week! Some of our senior leadership and our talented interns attended the Nuclear Opportunities Workshop this week in Knoxville, TN. They each left with fresh perspectives on the future of nuclear and it’s clear that the future of nuclear is right here at home in East Tennessee. A big thank you to the East Tennessee Economic Council (ETEC) for hosting the NOW Conference and allowing us to be the August sponsor of ETEC Fridays!
