In Phase I, Critical Frequency Design created a reusable SOSA/OpenVPX SysML Library. This library, initially populated with a few example profiles, includes the Rules, Functions, and Interfaces defined by SOSA. Users can create a module specializing one of these profiles, needing only to add the module’s behavior. In Phase II, CFD is creating a SOSA compliant optical transceiver using the Phase I Library. The transceiver SysML/MBSE model calculates performance, constraints, resource use, and depicts the circuit functional block diagram. Optical performance is calculated within the model based on the specific component parameters. Then MBSE parameters are handed off digitally to CAD design for the design of the circuit card. Through a partnership with the #USNavy, University of Notre Dame has spent the last three years building a Mach 10 wind tunnel. The facility, which can simulate flight conditions up to 10 times the speed of sound, will boost Notre Dame’s fundamental hypersonic research efforts and provide a more realistic environment in which to test high-speed technology. https://lnkd.in/gnYcFufQ
