Ridership is on the rise in southern California! In 2024, boardings on North County Transit District’s BREEZE bus grew by 8%, carrying nearly 4.9 million. The agency’s rail lines also saw more riders: the SPRINTER recorded 1.8 million rides, while COASTER trains saw a 5% increase, totaling over 850,000. Ridership aboard the agency’s FLEX van service also increased, experiencing a 26% boost. To further enhance ridership and encourage people to #TakeTransit, NCTD plans to expand services for events, particularly for the new Frontwave Arena and during baseball season. bit.ly/48exiTU

Things are definitely "fueling up" here at the North County Transit District. On the heels of last weeks amazing event with CalSTA, today we rolled out the red carpet for our Hydrogen Fueling Station groundbreaking event, with Congressman Mike Levin, our Board Chair Jewel Edson, Vice Chair Priya Bhat-Patel, Director Rick Robinson, our friends Federal Transit Administration Region 9, and the best damn transit employees in the world! This facility opening early in 2025, will fuel nearly 1/3 of the District's fleet, to accompany our already successful electrified buses. This will be the springboard for building a heavy-duty H2 farming station to Southern California, in addition to NCTD moving forward with hydrogen on our SPRINTER Rail Corridor, with the potential of becoming the nation's first fully-functional hydrogen dependent rail line. We've got a lot of work to do, but we have the right team and the time is now! Also, how about a sneak peak debut of our new Veterans Day Bus! 🚌 🌄 🚌
