NOPA congratulates our friends at Perdue AgriBusiness on Miss Madeline's maiden voyage transporting #soybean oil from Chesapeake, VA to Salisbury, MD! We can't wait to keep following along in her journey. #food #soybean #soybeans #nopamember
The Miss Madeline, our first-ever liquid barge, traveled from Chesapeake, VA to Salisbury, MD this week transporting crude soybean oil for processing at our Edible Oil Refinery. We’re so proud of our team for their hard work and thankful for our partners who all had a hand in making this project a reality.

Simply incredible to see the scale and scope of work that NOPA member Perdue AgriBusiness does each and everyday to feed and fuel the world! #soybeans #food #feed #fuel #transportation
Our team in Chesapeake STAYS BUSY. Just this week, we’re unloading soybeans from the Northern Neck, loading our oil barge, loading a Panamax vessel with American grain to send to Italy, and unloading Midwest grain from railcars…and that’s not counting our truck traffic! Huge thanks to our associates in Chesapeake who make the magic happen, day in and day out. We’re thankful for you!

Fun fact: Did you know NOPA member ADM has been crushing #soybeans since 1929?! More on that and the history of the company below:
🌱 How It Started: A Regional Linseed Oil Business Vs. 🌍 How It's Going: Global Agricultural Supply Chain Manager and Processor In 1902, George A. Archer and John W. Daniels began a linseed crushing business. That was the start of ADM. Over the last 120 years, we've grown from a regional linseed oil business to an essential global agricultural supply chain manager and processor. #ADM #GlobalNutrition #AgricultureLeader https://bit.ly/4fomKUy

Interesting Used Cooking Oil news out of China today- hat tip for sharing Susan Stroud 👏
Big news out of China this morning as the finance ministry has announced it will cancel the existing 13% export tax rebate for used cooking oil effective December 1 potentially creating headwinds for imports into the U.S. market. January-September U.S. used cooking oil imports are a record 3.9 billion pounds - up 98% year-on-year - 55% of which is of Chinese origin. Soybean oil is taking note, up 3.6% on the open. For those wondering - we have imported enough UCO so far in 2024 to replace/displace the oil from more than 332 million bushels of soybeans (aka Minnesota’s entire 2024 crop). NoBullAg.Substack.com

National Oilseed Processors Association (NOPA) members are taking action on our key priorities- great work to NOPA’s Vice Chair Gary Cordier of Perdue AgriBusiness for sharing facts about the pivotal role soybean oil plays in the transition to cleaner and greener energy production 🌱👏🏻 #nopainaction #fuel #sustainable #perdue #energy #soybeans
Last week, Gary Cordier (SVP Grain and Oilseed) participated in the XBX Exploring Biofuels Regional Seminar. This conference, touted as “a comprehensive symposium on the four pillars of energy transition,” brought together a diverse group of thought leaders for discussions about using low carbon liquid fuels. Gary sat on the “Scalability of Production” panel and spoke to attendees about the key challenges dealing with and practical solutions needed to scale production of low-carbon liquid fuels to meet the market need.
