Thank you for sharing Cultivate Pathways! We are so happy these internships worked out well and appreciate this funding opportunity from Massachusetts Executive Office of Education -STEM Internship Grant!
This month 12 talented multilingual high school students completed the AbreTech summer internship with Cultivate Pathways. 🌟 💻 Web design interns spent their summer building websites for small business clients and improving Cultivate Pathways’ website using AI and coding. 💻 IT interns completed repairs on 50 HP Chromebooks advancing digital equity in the region through a partnership with the TEK Collaborative as part of the Essex County Community Foundation Digital Equity Initiative. The interns participated in bilingual career development sessions with tech industry professionals who reflected their background and experience, inspiring interns to pursue careers in UX Design, IT Network Management, and Software Development, tech professions that they previously did not think were possible for them. Thank you to industry professionals Oscar Romero, Senior Software Engineer at Merit America and Fredy Guerrero, Senior IT Technician at Mass General Hospital for inspiring this next generation of young talent. Zureymi Augilar, an AbreTech intern, shares her reflection on the impact of her experience: “Antes pensaba que sería difícil aprender y poder seguir con mis metas. Ahora pienso que todo es posible y todo se puede superar.” Before I thought that it was difficult to learn and to be able to achieve my goals. Now I think that everything is possible and everything can be overcome, despite the obstacles. Thank you to the Catalyze Challenge for investing in multilingual learners who are often excluded from these types of rigorous career connected learning experiences. Thank you to the MassHire North Shore Workforce Board and Lynn Public Schools for your support for this work. Thank you, in particular, to Lynn Classical High School Principal Amy Dunn. It was a joy to work with talented LPS students and invest in their futures 🌟 #Abretech #multilingual #techequity #digitalequity #workbasedlearning #careerconnectedlearning #lynn #careerexploration #catalyzechallenge
