✨🤝 Sponsor Spotlight: Biointerfaces Institute ✨🤝 We’re incredibly grateful to the Biointerfaces Institute for sponsoring our Team Matching event! Their support made this gathering possible and helped us foster collaboration and innovation for this year's Activator applicants. The University of Michigan Biointerfaces Institute is dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary research at the intersection of biology and engineering, with groundbreaking work in biomaterials, nanotechnology, and biomedical devices. Their commitment to innovation inspires us and aligns perfectly with Nucleate's mission to empower the next generation of biotech leaders in the Michigan ecosystem! Thank you, Biointerfaces Institute, for your partnership and for driving progress in our community and thank you to Shelly Zervos, Elizabeth Herness Peters, and Ruby Miller, Ph.D., for helping organise this event and introducing our participants to BI resources!

Community shout out! We are so grateful for all the wonderful groups in our community who use our event space to gather, and we wanted to take a moment to highlight Nucleate Michigan. They hosted their second annual Women’s Dinner at Venue last week and it was an incredible evening celebrating mentorship, connection, and the power of women leaders in Michigan’s life sciences and biotech ecosystem. The room was full of meaningful conversations, valuable insights, and the special kind of energy that radiates out when a room full of dedicated, accomplished women come together. We love that Nucleate Michigan supports initiatives like the Women Leading Life Sciences virtual series, which is dedicated to inspiring and empowering young women in life sciences to step confidently into leadership roles. This series is part of their ongoing efforts to advance gender equity and break down barriers, ensuring a brighter future for women in STEM. What a great start to the Activator season with a successful team matching! We had six teams share their biotech ideas and get connected with interested business partners. It was amazing to see all of the innovative projects and the translation of research being done at the university to useable technology. Big thanks to the University of Michigan Biointerfaces Institute for sponsoring the event and providing the food and location. We'll see everyone again in January! Over the past 5 years, Nucleate’s Activator Program has supported 409+ venture teams, with our alumni raising over $370M to develop cutting-edge technologies. We provide life-science start ups with mentorship from industry leaders and the opportunity to connect with investors. The Activator program culminates in a final pitch showcase where teams present their product to a panel of judges.

Everything begins with an idea. Over 600 innovators dared to dream big by entering their ideas in SAE Media Group’s Create the Future Design Contest. Today, during the final round of the annual contest, seven finalists pitched their ideas to a panel of judges, covering what inspired them to develop the invention and what makes it innovative as well as how the technology will help realize the future. Each idea was innovative, but one team walked away with the $25000 prize! Congratulations to the Grand Prize winner NETrolyze: A Novel Immunotherapy for Triple-Negative Breast Cancer. NETrolyze aims to enable thousands of TNBC patients to avoid toxic chemotherapies and prohibitively expensive treatments associated with advanced metastatic disease. #design #engineering #innovation #technology #createthefuture #designcontest https://lnkd.in/eQH-u27F Joe Pramberger Kaitlyn Sommer, M.A. Andrew Corselli Sam Mills Luke Schnirring Brian Hines Sherrie Trigg
