November 19 was a night of Synergy in Innovation between pharma, startups, and academia at Sanofi’s Cambridge Crossing site. As a part of Sanofi’s commitment to support early-stage entrepreneurs, Sanofi’s North America R&D Scientific Relations & Initiatives (Karen Chandross, PhD, Laura Chambre, PhD) and Sanofi Vaccines’ Innovation & Emerging Sciences (Parthiban Rajasekaran) teams hosted together with Nucleate, a panel discussion and a networking event focused on the value of Pharma-Startup Partnerships and how to address any challenges. It was an excellent opportunity for Sanofi teams to showcase our competitive open innovation partnering models to an audience of over 200 professionals. Experts from both pharma (Jen Rice, Ph.D. from Takeda, Carla D’Avanzo from Sanofi Partnering) and startups (Cole Lewis from Cloverleaf Bio and Eric Kelsic from Dyno Therapeutics) shared their inspiring stories and provided valuable insights and practical examples to all the attending bio-innovators that are eager to navigate this collaborative ecosystem. It was fascinating to hear the different challenges facing a new startup as compared to a seasoned entrepreneur and how to strengthen engagement to tap into cutting-edge innovations. A big thank you to Nucleate (in particular Soufiane Aboulhouda, PhD and Ariana Barreiro) for helping organize and promoting the event! Organizations like Nucleate play a key role in nurturing the next generation biotech leaders thereby fostering innovation.
