We thank Senior Planning Manager Todd Hager LEED AP WELL AP for representing our agency at several recent team-building brainstorming sessions known as “eco-charrettes.” Hager participated in these meetings with our partners for three school districts. They include: • Williamsburg Local School District (Nov. 25): Todd joined representatives from the district, Fanning Howey, EA Energy Solutions, LLC, and Four Seasons Environmental, Inc. to discuss plans for a new PK-5 building project. • Shaker Heights City School District (pictured on Dec. 2): Todd participated in an eco-charrette with the district, GPD Group, Robert P. Madison International, Gilbane Building Company, Education Elements, Christine Medvedev Design, and Emerald Built Environments, A Crete United Company. The focus was on the Woodbury Elementary renovation project that will accommodate grades 6-8. • Tipp City Schools (Dec. 4): Todd met with the district, Garmann Miller , STAN Engineers, EA Energy Solutions, LLC, and Shook Construction to plan a new elementary/middle school for grades PK-8. We thank each of the districts and our valued partners for participating. For those unfamiliar, an eco-charrette is an interactive brainstorming and collaborative exercise that generates and targets sustainability goals for a project. Thanks for all of your hard work, Todd!

We are very excited to showcase some of the progress being made at the Ohio Expo Center & State Fairgrounds as part of the Expo 2050 Master Plan. The work is happening across the entire site. Thank you to our partners at Wellogy for these photos, which highlight some of the work updates that has taken place in November: • Steel framework is going up at the site of the new Multi-Purpose Agricultural Education Facility, with workers seen here installing roof joints. • The new Ohio Showcase building is coming to life, with hydro-mobile scaffolding in place and structural embeds underway. • Demolition work continues at the site, including the creation of a communication trench. Both the Multi-Purpose Agricultural Education Facility and the Ohio Showcase Building are slated for completion in 2026. Learn more about the vision for the Expo 2050 Master Plan by visiting https://lnkd.in/gCDBtKbt. Thank you to Senior Planning Manager Joseph Macneil and Project Manager Brett Boyce for their work on this important undertaking. We also want to thank Governor Mike DeWine for his vision and our partners at the Ohio Expositions Commission, Turner Construction Company, Hill International, Inc., and Wellogy.

All aboard! As part of The Center for Architecture and Design’s (CFAD) Orange Line exhibit, our Expo 2050 partners from Hill International, Inc., Turner Construction Company, and Wellogy put their creativity to the test – with LEGO bricks. This holiday season, CFAD will again present a contemporary take on the historic Lazarus department store holiday window display. This year’s theme is “Columbus’ Forgotten Landmarks Reborn,” and our Expo 2050 partners created a to-scale model of the Agriculture & Horticulture building’s West Façade, which still stands at the Ohio Expo Center & State Fairgrounds, which will frame the backdrop for a new outdoor amphitheater coming in 2026. The public can check out the exhibit and all of the great creations through the holiday season, including tonight at a celebration of the exhibit from 5:30-7:30 p.m., at CFAD. Great things are happening in the Hamilton County village of Lockland, where the main campus building for Lockland Local Schools is undergoing a top-to-bottom transformation. This impressive structure has stood as a Cincinnati area mainstay since 1912 and has been a familiar sight to drivers on I-75 for decades. Now, it’s being brought into the 21st century for the students of Lockland. As you can see from these photos provided by Project Manager Paul J. Motylinski, PE, recent updates include new windows and ceramic tile flooring in the building’s restrooms. A special thank you goes out to our partners on this important project: SHP and Pepper Construction Group. Thanks again to Paul for the great photos and for all of his efforts for the people of Lockland. We look forward to sharing more progress as we get closer to its completion in the summer of 2025.

We are honored to support the Kol Israel Foundation in preserving the memory of those who were lost by contributing to the renovation of its Holocaust Memorial in Cleveland. Through a $200K cultural facilities grant we administer, the money paid for new paver bricks, tree removal, electrical and security upgrades, and more. Thank you to our Grants Administrator Jessica DeLong for her hard work and dedication on this meaningful project. (Photography by Howard Tucker)
