Center staff attended The Ohio Manufacturers' Association Workforce Summit, where industry leaders, policymakers, and experts gathered to address Ohio’s manufacturing workforce needs. The event highlighted innovative strategies for attracting, developing, and retaining talent, while also addressing the transformative role of AI in manufacturing. Discussions focused on how to navigate workforce changes and evolving industry demands, ensuring Ohio remains at the forefront of manufacturing excellence. It was great to see our friends from the Ohio Department of Higher Education, as well as representation from Northwest Ohio, including the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce and Pinnacle Plastic Products. The Center continues to support workforce development in the region by helping manufacturers upskill employees, connecting students with industry opportunities, and fostering partnerships that address workforce needs. Collaborating for Ohio’s workforce future. 💛 We joined our friends at The Ohio Manufacturers' Association this week at their 7th annual Workforce Summit to engage with manufacturers and share insights on collaborating to solve workforce challenges. Kristina Clouse, our Senior Managing Director of Talent, participated in a panel that brought together key state partners to discuss initiatives to strengthen the talent pipeline for Ohio’s manufacturers—covering topics from K-12 career awareness to industry-led training programs and technology adoption. Matthew Foerster and Jessica Weimer represented Starr Manufacturing along with MVMC Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition in Columbus this week at the Workforce Summit hosted by The Ohio Manufacturers' Association. We were able to gain insight to help attract, retain, and develop talent, in order to continue to be one of NE Ohio's top manufacturing companies.
