OHLA USA's Paving Prowess!   Earlier this week, representatives of the Florida Department of Transportation and Asphalt Contractors Association of Florida recognized OHLA USA for its exceptional proficiency in asphalt manufacturing and placement with the Smoothest Pavement Award on two highway projects. The awards are designed to recognize companies that go beyond what is required to ensure the quality of asphalt not only meets but exceeds department standards for pavement smoothness.    Yonathan Benarroch, OHLA USA’s Vice President, and Wade Knowlton, one of OHLA's Asphalt General Superintendents, accepted the awards on behalf of our asphalt plant staff and the two project teams who worked diligently on both the Florida Turnpike Resurfacing project – 21.3 Lane Miles of Paving in Palm Beach County and State Road 9, I-95 – 10.1 Lane Miles of Paving in St. Lucie County.   Congratulations to the entire team with special recognition to OHLA USA's asphalt plant staff who always create a superior product for our Florida highways! #OHLAUSA #CommunityAsphalt #Paving #Asphalt #Pavetheway #AwardWinningAsphalt #AwardWinningPaving #WeareOHLA #WeBuildExcellence

Work is advancing around the clock on the I-5 North County Enhancements (NCE) project in Santa Clarita, California. Pictured below are our crews placing LCB (Lean Concrete Base) on Class III Aggregate Base on the widened southbound I-5 between Gavin Canyon Undercrossing and Weldon Canyon Overcrossing. After completing this activity, the team will install Jointed Plain Concrete Pavement (JPCP), a durable and long-lasting rigid pavement ideal for California freeways. Designed for warm climates, JPCP uses longitudinal and transverse joints to control cracking. Covering 17 miles between SR-14 and Parker Road, this LA Metro project will enhance travel with: ✅ New HOV lanes in both directions ✅ Northbound and southbound truck lanes to ease congestion ✅ Bridge reconstruction, barrier walls, advanced ITS tech, and much more Our client, LA Metro together with Caltrans District 7, initiated this project to relieve congestion and traffic back-ups as a result of the tremendous growth that Santa Clarita has experienced. Today, it is the third-largest city by population in Los Angeles County. We are proud to be transforming the I-5 for smoother, safer travel—delivering progress one milestone at a time. Great progress by OHLA Building!

🚧 Transforming a Historic Landmark: Borough Hall Station, Brooklyn 🚧 OHLA USA's Judlau Contracting division is proud to showcase an important milestone at the historic MTA Borough Hall Station! Recently, in collaboration with our partner, Integrated Structures Corp., we successfully installed brand-new steel beams—as part of a comprehensive girder replacement effort. The new girder systems are essential for enhancing the station's structural integrity, ensuring safety and longevity for years to come.   Advancing Accessibility and Modernization Our team is at the forefront of delivering critical ADA accessibility upgrades on behalf of our client, including: - Three new elevators for improved ADA accessibility and mobility. - Raised ADA boarding areas for seamless travel. - Reconfigured fare arrays with AFAS and agent-operated gates. - Upgraded communications, fire alarms, and MEP systems.   State-of-Good-Repair Enhancements This transformative project also focuses on restoring and modernizing the station, with upgrades that include: - Refurbishing concrete and corroded steel. - Replacing columns and installing new waterproofing for the station roof and side walls. - Building two new platform edges. - Repairing and replacing roof girders, tiles, and architectural finishes. - Upgrading back-of-house spaces for operational efficiency.   At OHLA USA, we are committed to preserving the history of Borough Hall Station while preparing it for the future. Yesterday, #OHLAUSA’s Northeast Region launched the Safety Professional Pathway program, welcoming six new participants. This pilot initiative aims to develop future safety leaders through skill-building, knowledge, and hands-on experience, reinforcing our commitment to safety, growth, and excellence. Creating this innovative program is one more way OHLA USA is advancing its Safety Mission, which is bound by the guiding principle that the deeper our commitment to safety, the more we minimize risk and protect the health and safety of all our stakeholders.
