Today is Giving Tuesday, the global day of generosity. If you’re reading this, then you likely already know the war and famine in Sudan are the worst in the world. What you may not know is that Sudan is also home to the world’s largest education crisis. Roughly 90% of the country’s schools are closed and 19 million kids are out of the classroom. The worst likely still lies ahead, too. But even in this darkest of years there have been glimmers of hope and change. One of those glimmers are the Sudanese teachers we support in Yida Refugee Camp on Sudan’s southern border. Throughout 2024, life at The Endure Primary and Renewal Secondary Schools has chugged along despite the war and not having enough funding. With so many Sudanese classrooms closed, it is even more critical that our schools thrive. These special teachers are funded mostly by a specific group of people just like you. The Renewal is our passionate family of givers who are pitching in what they can each month. This Giving Tuesday, we’re looking for 10 supporters to become members of The Renewal. Will you join us? Whether you can give $10/month or $100/month doesn’t matter, what matters is that you do what you can. https://lnkd.in/dUcKEpK

Adré was once a quiet town perched on the border between Chad and Sudan. It is now the main hub for people escaping a genocide and famine that has given way to the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. Well over 700,000 refugees have fled into eastern Chad. The country has received more Sudanese this year than the previous 20 years combined. Operation Broken Silence is helping to provide emergency food and medical support for some of the most at-risk refugees in the Adré camps.
