🌍 Community-Centered Solutions for Tackling the Climate-Health Crisis 🌱 We’re excited to share our latest blog featuring Joy Phumaphi, Executive Secretary of the African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA), who has been on the frontlines of addressing the climate-health crisis. This blog accompanies the launch of a new brief prepared by The END Fund and Panorama Strategy, outlining a roadmap for aligning investments with country-specific needs to accelerate progress in health and climate resilience. The brief urges global donors to focus on two key priorities: ➡️ Accelerating investment in high-impact regions ➡️ Strengthening climate-resilient health infrastructure through multisectoral partnerships Joy’s insights highlight the urgency of integrating community-centered solutions to combat worsening climate-related health challenges, such as neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) like malaria and schistosomiasis. Over the past three years, Panorama's Collaborative Learning for Impact Philanthropy initiative has analyzed the impacts of large, unrestricted gifts on nonprofit organizations. Within a year of receiving the gift, these high-impact organizations working on systems change are at peak strength and ready to act boldly to achieve their missions. It’s inspiring to see how these high-impact organizations, once given the resources, are ready to tackle complex challenges and make a lasting difference. But meaningful change doesn’t happen overnight—it takes sustained investment. Continued donor support for these highly vetted, proven organizations can amplify the effects of those initial gifts and pave the way for even greater impact. November 18 is the World Day for Prevention of and Healing from Child Exploitation, Abuse, and Violence—a reminder of the urgent need to protect children. Child sexual abuse (CSA) is a preventable public health crisis. This Diabetes Awareness Month, we’re reflecting on the stark global inequalities in diabetes care. According to a new study published by The Lancet on worldwide trends in diabetes prevalence, the disease has became more common in many countries around the world, with the highest increases in low- and middle-income countries. Yet, 59% of all adults over 30 with diabetes received no treatment in 2022. Why? Lack of diagnosis, awareness, and access to essential medicines remain significant barriers. Despite rising prevalence, treatment rates haven’t kept pace—highlighting an urgent need for equitable solutions to ensure life-saving care reaches all.
