It's a tool for pension savers and businesses - a snap shot of the climate performance of the UK's biggest pension providers, that can be used to demand progress and move to greener providers.   The 2025 ranking has been published today. Philea - Philanthropy Europe Association has recently published “Climate Change and Philanthropy Infrastructure: Supporting the Ecosystem to Act”. This new report by the European Philanthropy Coalition for Climate highlights the role of #philanthropy infrastructure organisations (PIOs) in strengthening the philanthropic sector’s efforts to address the #climate crisis. The report offers ideas and practical insights for foundations and PIOs, helping them engage with climate action and maximise their impact. “Authoritarian and populist movements are gaining momentum partly because the economy has stopped working for people. So, reforming the economic system is an urgent task for cohesion and functioning democracies. How are we going to do it?” As guest editors of the latest issue of Alliance magazine, Partners for a New Economy’s Jo Swinson and Crystal Simeoni from The Nawi Collective, in conversation with Laura Carvalho from Open Society Foundations and Paul Shrivastava from The Club of Rome reflect on these fundamental questions: Why do we need economic systems change, how will change come about, and what role should philanthropy play in enabling the transformation?   ⛓️💥 the global economic system is unequivocally exacerbating the climate crisis, ecological destruction, and perpetrating inequality. A system founded upon the exploitation of people along gender, race and class lines can never deliver on the wellbeing of all people, 🌟 repurposing institutions – all the way from rethinking the role of the state to overhauling the missions of individual corporations – will be essential smaller pieces to realising an economic paradigm shift on a macro level,  🤲 for better or worse, philanthropy has played a large role in shaping our economic system as it stands today. Similarly, if employed mindfully, philanthropy can be used to catalyse change towards an economic system that delivers on the #wellbeing for the planet and all people.
