Thanks for the spotlight UF Innovate | Accelerate!
Pheronym, UF Innovate | Accelerate alum, was spotlighted by C&EN for their groundbreaking work in sustainable agriculture! ✨ Using innovative nematode pheromone technology, Pheronym is addressing the dual challenge of crop loss and environmental sustainability. They’ve developed a repellent seed coating that deters parasitic nematodes by mimicking signals that a plant is already infected, reducing root damage and nutrient loss. Under the leadership of Dr. Fatma Kaplan, a former University of Florida researcher who incubated at both our #HubSweetHome and Sid Martin Biotech, Pheronym is now scaling production in California, hoping to target greenhouse operators before expanding to orchards and row crops like corn and soy. We are so excited to watch their work grow and have a real impact on the future of #SustainableAgriculture! 🌱 🔗: https://lnkd.in/gGPcyXyt
