We had the privilege of volunteering at the PHILADELPHIA250 Inaugural Mentorathon, hosted at Franklin Towne Charter High School. This inspiring event marked the launch of the Youth Mentorship Initiative, a key pillar of the organization’s Community Activation Strategy as we prepare to celebrate America’s Semiquincentennial in 2026. The Mentorathon also served as the kickoff to a weekend of service inspired by the enduring legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., while also commemorating National Mentoring Month. I was profoundly impressed by the remarkable panelists and the enthusiasm of the students, who collaborated to bridge classroom learning with real-world career opportunities. It was an unforgettable experience that truly highlighted the power of mentorship and community engagement. #MLKDay #MLKDayofService #Philadelphia250 #Philadelphia #Mentor

Shoutout to all of the mentors and people who helped make the Mentorathon a success!
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service As students at Franklin Towne Charter High School, we were honored to participate in a powerful event Friday in partnership with PHILADELPHIA250 to celebrate the spirit of service and mentorship on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Mentorathon was a life-changing experience, bringing together over 30 incredible volunteers, including 25 professional mentors from various industries. These inspiring individuals shared their career journeys, wisdom, and advice, helping us connect our classroom learning to real-world opportunities. This event was more than just a day of career exploration—it was a celebration of Dr. King's legacy of community, leadership, and service. His dream of creating opportunities for all lives on through the actions of those who support and uplift the next generation. We are incredibly grateful to Monica O. Montgomery and the PHILADELPHIA250 team for organizing this impactful day. A special thank-you to all for your generosity of time: Nneka Brown, Monica O. Ladies and gentlemen, our President and CEO, Danielle DiLeo Kim. Here are a few photos of her on a panel for the Center City Business Association, hosted by tamala edwards of 6abc, alongside Meg Kane, Jennifer Nagle, Angela Val and Michael Newmuis. Together they engaged in conversation about the 250th anniversary of our nation, the upsides that Philadelphia will experience and the potential challenges that may arise with millions of visitors visiting the place where the Declaration of Independence was signed.
