  • At Polydeck, we believe in serving, growing, and caring for our local communities and future generations. This year, after #MINExpo2024 in Las Vegas, we proudly continued our tradition of community support by partnering with Project 150, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless, displaced, and disadvantaged high school students. On December 2, Frank Harris, our Director of Mining, delivered a $14,000 donation to Project 150’s Executive Director. This contribution will help empower students to stay in school, thrive, and build brighter futures. Through partnerships like this, we strive to make a meaningful difference beyond the trade show floor. A heartfelt thank you to our team, partners, and customers for making initiatives like this possible! Together, we’re helping communities grow stronger. 💛 #CommunityImpact #Project150 #GivingBack #PolydeckCares #MiningIndustry

Are your screens mounted on tall and slender pedestals? This can create a lot of motion in the Z-Axis, creating imbalances in the screen's motion, and issues with everything from screening efficiency to premature component wear. While this one was measured properly, you can get an idea of whether this is a concern by simply using slow motion video on your smartphone camera. Need help measuring your screen's performance? • We recently helped a customer tackle some serious issues with their SAG discharge screen... Oversized material and pebbles on the upper deck of a 10'x24' SAG discharge screen were slowing down production and sending too much fines to the pebble crusher. The fix? A smart combination of SVR Polydex panels, dams, and heavy-duty RUBBERDEX panels. The result? We reduced oversize by 25% and boosted fine copper production by 12%! A quick adjustment with a big payoff. That’s how we help our customers stay efficient! 💪 #MiningEfficiency #CopperBoost #Mining #WeGotThis #FieldSuccess

  • What to do when frequent repairs and downtime disrupt barge operations... A Kentucky-based sand and gravel producer was facing significant wear and tear on their barge unloading hopper, processing 15 to 20 barges daily. Constant repairs using AR plates created layers of patches with sharp edges, resulting in frequent downtime and inefficiencies. PROBLEMS ❌ Constant wear and tear on the barge unloading hopper required frequent repairs. ❌ Downtime and inefficiencies due to ongoing welding and patching with AR plates. ❌ Sharp edges from repairs posed safety risks and further complications. STEPS TAKEN ✅ Polydeck recommended 2” thick PROTEX RL rubber liners to protect the hopper from further wear and tear. ✅ The modular design of PROTEX RL allowed for quick, custom onsite installation without the need for welding or cutting. ✅ After initial success, the customer expanded the use of PROTEX RL across all wear spots in their plant. RESULTS Frequent inspections of the hopper became unnecessary as the liners outperformed expectations. Downtime was minimized, and the customer has since retrofitted other parts of the plant with PROTEX RL to enhance protection and efficiency. #WearProducts #WearLife #Liners #WeGotThis #Aggregates #Polydeck

  • What's special about our PIPETOP™ stringer system? In the world of screening, every inch of open area counts. Our PIPETOP™ system boasts ½" wide stringer rails which, when paired with our Maxi style panels, provides maximum material flow, significantly improving throughput and reducing material buildup under the deck. For plant managers, this means fewer bottlenecks, more efficient screening, and less downtime for maintenance. By utilizing the PIPETOP™ stringer system, you’re not just increasing open area—you’re optimizing the entire screening process for greater productivity and cost savings. Increased open area. Maximum efficiency. Unbeatable results. #DidYouKnow #ScreeningOptimization #ThroughputBoost #PIPETOP #OpenArea #Mining #Aggregate #Coal #Polydeck

  • 🚀 Another successful install in the books! Our team just wrapped up a successful install for a customer who was dealing with major plugging issues during their wet sand scalping process. Plugging was leading to excess overs and a high recirculating load. A simple switch to our lighter duty Polydex® panels drastically cut down on plugging and significantly reduced the overs product and recirculating load. The result? A much smoother, more efficient screening process. Small adjustments can make a big impact in the field!

  • Side-Tension vs Modular Media: Why Does It Matter? Greenwood Aggregates was facing ongoing wear life challenges in the feed zone of their wash screen. The side-tensioned polyurethane media they were using required full section replacements, even when only a small area was worn out, leading to unnecessary time and cost. PROBLEMS ❌ Short wear life in the feed zone of the wash screen. ❌ Entire 4' sections of media needed replacement, even when only a small part was worn. ❌ Extra hardware and weight were added due to side-tensioned media designs. STEPS TAKEN ✅ The first 4' of the screen was upgraded to Polydeck’s PipeTop Stringers with Maxi panels, offering both high open area and longer wear life. ✅ The modular design of Polydeck’s 1' x 1' Maxi panels allowed Greenwood to replace only the worn-out areas, reducing waste and labor. ✅ Installation was simplified by eliminating the need for extra hardware. RESULTS Throughput increased by 1.5x compared to the old side-tensioned media. Greenwood Aggregates no longer needs to replace entire sections, significantly boosting efficiency and reducing maintenance time. #ModularScreening #ModularScreenMedia #ScreenMedia #Aggregates #Throughput #WeGotThis

  • Not all rubber is the same... In the world of screening, the choice of rubber material is far from trivial—it’s a critical decision that impacts everything from wear life to screening efficiency. The demands of different applications—whether it's scalping, sizing, or dewatering—require materials that can meet specific challenges head-on. For example, in general screening operations, a balanced rubber formulation (like our XR rubber compound) provides just the right mix of flexibility and durability to handle varying material sizes and conditions. But in high-abrasion environments, the same formulation may not hold up, leading to premature wear, reduced efficiency, and more frequent changeouts. In these cases, an extreme durability formulation like our XR100 or XR200 is necessary—engineered to withstand sharp, abrasive materials and heavy impact over extended periods. There’s also the challenge of blinding and material buildup, which can drastically reduce throughput and increase maintenance costs. Elastic rubber formulations like our FXR or FXR100 are specifically designed to flex under impact, dislodging materials before they have a chance to block apertures. These kinds of material-specific solutions allow for consistent screening performance, even in applications that are prone to clogging. Selecting the wrong rubber material for the job can result in costly inefficiencies, shorter wear life, and unnecessary downtime. That's why understanding the unique properties of rubber formulations is essential to optimizing performance and ensuring long-term operational success.
