A Journey of Healing
About us
Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings. Project Healing Waters brings a high-quality, full-spectrum fly fishing program to an ever-expanding number of disabled active military service personnel across the Veterans Affairs Healthcare System, in Military Hospitals and the Warrior Transition Command. We focus our resources wherever the need is greatest and expand our partner base in the process. PHWFF has become recognized as an innovative leader and model in the field of therapeutic outdoor recreation for the disabled, through its successful application of the sport of fly fishing as a rehabilitation tool.

Community is the heart of what we do at Project Healing Waters. When Veterans join us, they’re not just learning to fly fish—they’re becoming part of a family that understands, supports, and uplifts. With every story shared and every challenge overcome, we strengthen bonds and create lasting change. Together, we’re not just healing—we’re thriving. The holiday season is about more than just gifts, it’s about showing care and gratitude. As we celebrate with family and friends, let’s take a moment to honor those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom. Supporting Project Healing Waters is a meaningful way to give back to those who have served. Why Your Support Matters Your donation helps provide Veterans with opportunities to heal, connect, and find purpose through our programs. Whether it’s a small one-time gift or ongoing support, it makes a real difference in their lives. This season, as we reflect on what matters most, consider how your contribution could help someone who has given so much for all of us. It’s not just about giving—it’s about creating moments of hope and connection. Be Part of the Impact Together, we can ensure our Veterans feel seen, supported, and valued. Donate to PHW and help us continue this important work. Thank you for being part of this mission. Wishing you a happy and meaningful holiday season! #projecthealingwaters #flyfishingsaveslives #veteranshelpingveterans #flyfishing

As the colder months set in, it’s easy to feel distant from the water and the sport we love. Now may be a great time to spend more time behind the vise. Fly tying is more than just preparing for the next season. It’s a way to stay connected to the sport and the community, no matter the weather. At PHW, we keep that connection alive with virtual fly tying sessions, local meet-ups, and online groups. It’s not just about learning techniques and new patterns, it’s about sharing stories and staying part of something bigger. #flytying #veteranshelpingveterans #flyfishingsaveslives #projecthealingwaters

Honoring Pearl Harbor Today, on National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women impacted by the events of December 7, 1941. Their courage and sacrifice remind us of the true cost of freedom and the unyielding strength of resilience and unity in the face of great challenges. At Project Healing Waters, we strive to honor their legacy by supporting Veterans through the therapeutic power of fly fishing. As we reflect on this pivotal moment in history, let’s also reaffirm our commitment to those who have served and sacrificed for our nation. In the service, we relied on our team, the person to our left and right. So why is it that when we leave, we often try to go it alone? There’s strength in numbers, especially when facing life’s challenges. We knew that in the service, and it’s just as true after, maybe even more so. Project Healing Waters isn’t just about individual healing; it’s about creating bonds that last a lifetime. Through our programs, we build relationships where we can lean on each other when we need it most. Join us and be part of a community that lifts one another up. #community #veteranshelpingveterans #flyfishing #getoutside #flyfishingsaveslives
