Our EdTech Puberty App makes learning about puberty fun, so youth can feel prepared, supported, and confident!

About us

Puberry is a gamified EdTech app, like DuoLingo for puberty! With more than 77% of students requesting more in depth health education and the majority of parents feeling uncomfortable talking to their kids about puberty, we're offering a fun and accessible solution! Users learn via lessons and play games to move onto the next levels. They can also ask anonymous questions that are answered by verified health experts and complete daily check-ins to create self-awareness and emotional intelligence around feelings, both emotionally and physically. We also use fruit as our theme, to enable conversations by making the content easily digestible. Puberry makes learning about your body fun, so youth can feel prepared, supported, and confident entering puberty/adulthood!

🌟 How to Keep Going (When the Going Gets Tough) 🌟 🎉  I’m thrilled to share my recent feature on Linda Nedell's Real Founders Podcast with SAYge Link, where I had the opportunity to talk about resilience in entrepreneurship, the journey of building Puberry, and what keeps me going even when things get tough. 💡 “As long as you keep powering through and it’s something you genuinely feel will bring value bigger than yourself, you’ll be able to deliver it.” 🎤 This quote, just a mini glimpse into the episode, perfectly captures my mindset in building Puberry—a gamified health education app focused on empowering youth through healthier lifestyle choices. The entrepreneurial journey isn’t easy (spoiler: it’s really tough), but when your mission is bigger than yourself, the grit and resilience to keep going become second nature. 👉 In fact, starting and scaling a mission-driven company like Puberry has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences of my life. Sharing this journey—along with tips on staying motivated, balancing ambition with self-care (dog walks), and embracing failure as part of the process—was an incredible moment of reflection. 💙 A special shoutout to Joy Hoover I’m honored to share this feature alongside Joy Hoover, founder of Esōes Cosmetics, whose beauty products function as safety devices for women. It’s inspiring to stand beside another founder who’s turning passion into impactful change! 🎙️ If you’re curious about the conversation or need a boost of inspiration for your own entrepreneurial path, check out the article https://lnkd.in/exEKVQwE and podcast https://lnkd.in/eW3NWpHg . And, remember to always stay grounded in your “why.” 💬 And for all my fellow founders and change-makers: What keeps you going when the going gets tough? I’d love to hear your strategies or stories in the comments. Let’s keep the conversation going! #Resilience #FemaleFounders #Entrepreneurship #HealthEducation #Puberry #EsoesCosmetics #SaygeLink

🎤 I had an incredible time pitching Puberry at the Capital for Good Conference, hosted by the Tamer Institute for Social Enterprise and Climate Change at Columbia University! A huge thank you to Karen Hasher for organizing such an impactful pitch event and to all the founders for sharing your inspiring businesses. It was amazing to celebrate each other’s accomplishments, and the level of innovation this year was absolutely next-level! 🌟 Fun fact: this year’s event poster featured a photo of me from last year’s pitch—honestly, a good laugh! And it was an honor sharing the stage with inspiring entrepreneurs like Carolyn Butler and Richard Amsinger of Manymoons, Daniel Gennaoui of Calendaria, Maurice L. Williams of NYC Fatherhood Conference, Tony Windley of GPS-RC, Teonna N. Cooksey Cooksey of Regal.AI and more! Can't wait to see what the future holds for these ventures! 💙 At Puberry, our mission is all about #socialimpact and #healthequity —we know that limited health education has real consequences: higher risk of loneliness, avoidable diseases, and a healthcare system accounting for 17% of the country’s GDP. Health illiteracy alone costs the U.S. up to $3 trillion annually! This is the gap Puberry aims to close. 👉  Also, calling all #founders and investors! I’m launching a monthly meetup series starting in December, where we’ll meet in #CentralPark or at an Upper West Side cafe for intentional conversations on topics that matter to entrepreneurs. Interested? Sign up here! https://lnkd.in/ew-_UEjF 🎉  Looking forward to building a community of change-makers. Together, we can support the greater good! #CapitalForGood #Puberry #HealthEducation #FoundersMeetup #EntrepreneursForChange #ColumbiaUniversity

  • 🎃 **A MUST READ!! - Would You have expected this???** What an unforgettable Halloween night for Puberry! 🎃 👻 We hear all the time that young people crave immediate gratification, have shorter attention spans, and are hard to engage—especially when it comes to learning. 🎃 But #Halloween night at our #Puberry pop-up proved just the opposite. Competing with all the fun distractions on the #UpperWestSide —epic home displays, endless candy, friends running from house to house—I honestly thought we’d struggle to hold anyone’s attention. But to my surprise, we had a constant crowd around our booth, with kids excitedly answering health trivia questions together, learning, and EARNING their treats! Here’s how it went: 🍫 Kids earned their candy (and other prizes!) by answering at least one health question. They loved spinning the wheel to see which question they'd get, and there was so much teamwork—everyone pitched in to help, even if they were strangers! 🩺 The real surprise? Parents had to PULL THEIR KIDS AWAY so they could keep trick-or-treating!! We had five-year-olds trying to answer trivia, curious and eager to learn about their bodies and health. It was an amazing reminder of how curious young minds really are when given the chance. 🏆 Our grand prize challenge featured a set of six trivia questions, and only those who answered each one correctly could win a Starbucks gift card. Think you’d win? Here’s a taste of the questions we asked! 1. Which hormone is responsible for many of the changes boys experience during puberty? 2. Why does a period occur? / What is it? *Explain what happens. 3. By what age do most boys typically reach their adult height? 4. What is the average amount of blood a lady loses during her period? (Tablespoons or Milliliters) 👉 And beyond the candy and prizes, we even had parents signing up for a one-month FREE Puberry trial. Big thanks to Melissa Moran for all your help—couldn’t have done it without you! 🧠 On Halloween night, we weren’t just giving away candy; we were giving away knowledge and a memorable experience that connected us all. 🫐 PS. This year, I was the Puberry blueberry, but had some adults walking by saying “puberty is scary.” So, stay tuned for next year’s costume. It will be a funny one 😀 ! #HappyHalloween #TrickorTreat #HealthEducation #PubertyTrivia #NYC #startup

  • 🌟 #InternSpotlight: Kyleigh Sudlow 🌟HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOO! 🥳 We are excited to introduce Kyleigh, a software engineering intern at Puberry! Kyleigh has already been doing amazing work for the past few weeks, and will continue to support Puberry throughout the Fall semester. 💙 Here’s a bit more about Kyleigh, and we’ll keep you posted on her incredible accomplishments! 👩🎓 Academic Journey: Kyleigh is currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science at Columbia University, General Studies, and is expected to graduate in May 2025. 🩰 Ballet to Bytes: Before diving into the world of computer science, Kyleigh was a professional ballet dancer with the Boston Ballet. Her transition from the stage to the coding world showcases her versatility and drive to continuously evolve and learn. Plus, she brings incredible discipline and drive from ballet to coding! 🎸 Hobbies and Interests: Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Kyleigh enjoys playing card games and learning new songs on the ukulele. 👧 Personal Puberty Story: “When I was little, I used to love stuffing my shirt with socks... I wanted to look like a grown lady!” 💡 Passion for Puberry's Mission: “Puberry's mission and purpose relates to a few different areas that have played a large role in my life. Working as a part time nanny while earning my degree has especially opened my eyes to the lack of support that kids have in school, and sometimes even at home, when it comes to puberty. I was so thrilled to come across a business plan that aimed to fill the gaps formed by the uncomfortable topics that surface during the critical ages of puberty, and knowing that I can play a part in this developing application means the world to me. I am confident in Puberry's mission and look forward to bringing our work to the attention of my kiddos!” 🥳 Join us in celebrating Kyleigh and her incredible contributions to hashtag #Puberry as a software engineer intern! We are grateful to have her on our team and look forward to seeing the impact she will undoubtedly make, and has already made. You can also follow her Puberry journey and impact on our Puberry Instagram! 👇Plus, checkout her video to learn how her career as a professional ballerina positively impacts her professional journey as a software engineer! https://lnkd.in/exmuKi9M #TeamHighlight #Inspiration #ComputerScience #BalletToBytes #FutureLeaders #softwareengineer #summerinternship #edtech #webapp #mobileapp #consumertech #productdev #healthtech #appdevelopment #dev
