In 2017, the American Psychological Association defined climate anxiety as “a chronic fear of environmental doom.” Three years later, a survey by the association found that as many as two-thirds of Americans have suffered from it. This increase in climate anxiety is causing some to turn to eco-chaplains, like Gabrielle Gelderman, for comfort and guidance. Here’s how climate activism can be seen as an act of faith: 1. Belief in a Greater Good: Climate activism is rooted in the belief that protecting the environment is vital for future generations, driving activists to act for the greater good despite a lack of immediate results. 2. Commitment to a Moral Imperative: Many activists see their efforts as a moral obligation, akin to religious ethics, feeling compelled to fight for the planet even amidst significant challenges. 3. Hope in the Face of Uncertainty: Climate activists maintain hope and perseverance despite the daunting nature of climate change, trusting that their efforts will ultimately lead to meaningful change. 4. Trust in Collective Power: Activists believe in the effectiveness of collective action and humanity's ability to create change, paralleling faith in a higher power or the potential for collaborative solutions. In this way, climate activism embodies a profound faith in a regenerative future. ✨ Check out the link below for the NPR article that inspired this post >>> https://lnkd.in/gTi3GDTR #RegenerativeRising #NPR #EcoChaplains #ClimateAnxiety #EcoAnxiety #ClimateChange #ClimateActivism #HopeForThePlanet #RegenerativeFuture #ActOnClimate #SaveThePlanet #EcoWarriors #EarthHealing #ClimateHope Seleyn DeYarus Erica Mellon Reilly Thomas Maryam Mohiuddin Ahmed Nancy Coulter-Parker Elizabeth Candelario nisha mary poulose Gina (Asoudegan) Nagel Jason Knoll Pablo Muñoz Ledo Robyn O'Brien Marci Zaroff Guy O. About us
Regenerative Rising is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that has served the evolution of the regenerative movement. Through Regenerative Earth Summits (online and in person) it gathered influencers, innovators and producers from agriculture, fashion, beauty, investment and civic and nonprofit communities to work together on new approaches that can restore and regenerate ecosystems impacted by extractive industrial patterns. We highlight leaders who support accelerating the adoption of principles that can lead to more informed and holistic problem solving to address planetary regeneration through place-sourced agriculture and stakeholder-centric business action. Our Mission: Regenerative Rising is dedicated to re-image our way of life to align with the principles of regeneration and indigenous wisdom. We aim to expand the capability of people to lead with a living systems worldview. Regenerative Rising is now designing online education curriculum for professionals to deepen their understanding of the principles of regeneration. Additionally, the organization focuses on robust storytelling to elevate the many voices leading meaningful change within the dynamic systems of human activity via our Regenerative Rising Podcast: Elevating Stories Activating Change.

Dear LinkedIn Community, You may know Regenerative Rising through experiencing the 2017, 2018, or 2019 Regenerative Earth Summits and/or the biennial Women Leading Regeneration Summits (2018, 2020, or 2022); or listening to the Elevating Voices, Activating Change podcast series. We have some exciting news – Regenerative Rising is expanding its scope of work and is designing online learning. A year ago, we received a generous seed grant from The VF Foundation to embark on a path of developing 'Regenerative Modes of Thought: Foundations Course and Education HUB'. In last month’s newsletter, we revealed a series of statements, which are the roots of the Regenerative Modes of Thought. As Einstein said, “The world, as we have created it, is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.” It is our aim to assist this shift in thinking through 'Regenerative Modes of Thought: Foundations Course and Education HUB'. It is a guide to learning new ways of perceiving that are a shift from our current mechanistic models. Each of us is capable of naming countless challenges and problems facing humanity and our planet. Yet, to genuinely think outside the parameters of the familiar to address the roots of these problems, is difficult. Finding solutions for problems is NOT the same as addressing the root cause of thinking that generated the choices. We are honored that the VF Foundation embraced our project and its aims. We are equally inspired by the journey we are within to generate 'Regenerative Modes of Thought: Foundations Course and Education HUB'. With the incredible resources of our many podcasts and programs to which many thought leaders have contributed, we are gleaning insightful reflections we are editing into short-form videos that align with the original thinking we are generating in our curriculum modules. Additionally, the Education HUB will showcase and link to educational offerings from fellow organizations such as the Savory Institute, Kiss The Ground, Soil Centric, nRhythm, Capital Institute, Regenerators and many others. Going forward, we will be sharing brief reveals of the content and asking for your engagement in our LinkedIn postings. Here we are cultivating a community of discourse to create a welcoming environment for idea exchange in service to shared evolution of modes of thought and inspired actions. Also join us on Instagram @regen_rising. Our ASK is that you become a monthly donor to empower the completion of 'Regenerative Modes of Thought: Foundations Course and Education HUB'. Together, with the seed grant and community support, the Beta will be up and running by 2025 Q3. Together, we can expand the movement and level up the number of opportunities for people around the world to shift their thinking toward one in service to life. Regenerative Rising’s Seleyn DeYarus recently reread “When God Was a Woman” by American author, artist and academic Merlin Stone. If you have read Stone’s book already, we encourage you to share your reflections in the comments below. If not, here’s a taste of Seleyn’s commentary on “When God Was a Woman”: To read this book is to step into a level of scholarly excavation that is both profound and full of merit. Merlin Stone dedicated decades to archeological and cultural analysis of the goddess religions. In applying the Regenerative Mode of Thought: Essence, we can open to the authentic and unique existence of constructs now forgotten. Societies that occupied the birthplaces of the Patriarchal religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, were mostly matrifocal, and likely matrilineal. Their god was a woman – the Great Goddess known by many names and honorifics such as Ishtar, Inanna, Kybele, Tiamat, Nekhebt, Queen of Heaven, Lady of the Universe, Lady of the High Places, Lioness of the Sacred Assembly or simply Her Holiness. What Stone discovered, as she studied the ancient evidence unearthed and interpreted by those first archeologists, revealed long standing biases against the notion of a female deity. But nevertheless, it is objectively impossible to deny the evidence as merely fertility symbols. There is no doubt that indeed the first deity of humans was the progenitor of life, woman. The connection between the Paleolithic female figurines and the emergence of Goddess worshiping societies of the Neolithic periods in the Near and Middle East suggest an ongoing progression of a Mother Goddess. To read Seleyn DeYarus’ full reflection, we invite you to subscribe to our monthly newsletter by Thursday, November 28th via regenerativerising.org. #RegenerativeRising #WhenGodWasAWomanBook #MerlinStone #BookRecommendation #RediscoveringGoddess #AncientMatriarchies #ForgottenHistories #RegenerativeModesofThought #Essence #Reciprocity Erica Mellon Reilly Thomas Maryam Mohiuddin Ahmed Nancy Coulter-Parker Elizabeth Candelario nisha mary poulose Gina (Asoudegan) Nagel Jason Knoll Pablo Muñoz Ledo Robyn O'Brien Marci Zaroff Guy O. This letter was originally shared in the October edition of Regenerative Rising’s Momentum in Regenerative Newsletter. For more letters like this, subscribe to our newsletter via https://lnkd.in/djgQ73S9. Dear Community, Beauty is potent. It enlivens and stirs. Autumn’s splendor produces a symphony of Beauty as the warm hues of afternoon sunlight sets golden, orange, and red leaves ablaze in riotous color. In that instance, we experience Beauty. It astounds us as living art. We also feel Beauty in the smile of one we love, or a glimmer of Beauty in the exchange of smiles with a stranger. Beauty – we are told – is in the eye of the beholder, or beauty is only skin deep, or beauty just is. Whatever the story, in this missive, I aim to raise your appreciation of Beauty as a guide to reveal the Regenerative Mode of Thought: Emergence – the vast potential native to life. Why? Because it is a difficult Time for many. There is much to stagger the heart, lower our gaze and shatter our hopes going on in the big wide world. Whatever might grasp your attention, whatever is troubling your heart – wars, catastrophe, elections, unrest, conflict, despair, heartbreak – let this serve as an invitation to consider Beauty as Emergence. Beauty is within. Beauty is free. We have touched it with our own minds and hearts. It is in times that trouble us that this state of awareness needs to be remembered, recollected, recalled, returned to. Not as escape but as a recalibration. The Regenerative Mode of Thought: Emergence reminds us of the vast potential inherent in us. It is our persistent opportunity to tap into this depth and bring it forth in our lives. Remember the mystical phoenix rises from the ashes; remember the lotus grows out of the muck. To empower our Emergence is to recall the potential within. We are perpetually capable of emerging into greater Beauty, more Joy, more Connection. The challenge is to remember and believe. Pause. Breathe. Turn inward to what is Beauty in you. We are standing with you – Reilly, Erica and I – reaching deep into the soil of our beings to recapture that glimpse and to pull it toward our center and remember the Beauty that is ours. Beauty is renewable, accessible and shareable. As we enter the coming weeks, we encourage the remembrance of Beauty. To rekindle that spark and share it as you go about your life. Know that by doing so, as you emerge refreshed, you can then help others. Be Beautiful. See Beauty. Emerge. Share.
