Working on our systems map on #water and in this deep dive we are learning so much about the benefits of Nature-Based Solutions. Not everything is trees and beavers🌳🦫 This analysis from the Pacific Institute, #CEOWaterMandate and The Nature Conservancy (TNC) highlights the key challenges in scaling Nature-Based Solutions (NBS): - There seem to be shortcomings in the currently available approaches and mechanisms to scale NBS implementation; - It appears there is not yet consensus among existing approaches on how to properly account for NBS benefits accrued over time; - There are technical, governance and financial barriers which limit NBS implementation at scale. A suggested first step to overcome this is “to provide more clarity and a systematic and standardised approach to account for the multiple benefits of NBS for watersheds in a way that builds the business case for investing in and implementing NBS at scale”. 🔗Access the report here:https://lnkd.in/dY7bsBH #naturebased #solutions #sustainability

One of our favourite projects this year has been our collaboration with EPIM (European Philanthropic Initiative for Migration) on migration governance. We supported them with systems analysis and design for their new strategy. A couple of weeks ago, we also facilitated a leverage pathways session at the EPIM Forum. It was an incredible two-day event filled with active participation and meaningful engagement! In their recent analysis, the ecological markers of water stress and their socioeconomic impact, and illustrates the key role that #water plays in the economy.
