On this National Day of Racial Healing, we are excited to lift up the work of the The Black Heritage Trail of New Hampshire (BHTNH), an organization dedicated to curating the stories of New Hampshire’s Black history and cultivating efforts for solidarity and racial healing within the state and across New England. Members of the Rippel team recently attended a BHTNH board meeting during which we discussed how to honor legacies past and present and considered how to step into shared stewardship together. Honoring legacies of racial justice and injustice can lead us toward racial healing, and we can transform healing into action as we all work together to create thriving communities rooted in belonging, equity, and justice.

As we shift administrations today, we are reminded of Dr. King’s words on interdependence and connection. Although reminders abound of our societal and political divisions, we see stewards across the country advancing collective well-being in their communities in important ways: fostering belonging, bridging seemingly impossible divides, and expanding the vital conditions that we all need to thrive. We are inspired by these stewards, committed to supporting them, and remain steadfast in our belief that true progress toward thriving for all is only possible when we truly work together, embracing our differences, to focus on what we all share.
