Thank you Alice Zhang, co-founder and CEO of Anise Health, for leading a SASE Pro webinar answering the question "How Can Mental Health be Tailored for the Asian Community?" Although other communities have started to break the stigma of mental health, there are still several barriers that prevent that in the Asian American community. Some of the cultural factors of minority mental health that Alice touched upon are: family expectations, acculturative stress, perfectionism, inter-generational trauma, and shame, guilt and pride. According to Alice, less than 5% of psychologists are Asian, so it is not always easy to find a therapist with whom Asians can identify. More information can be found at https://lnkd.in/gf8cz_4t. Alice Zhang is the co-founder and CEO of Anise Health, a culturally-responsive mental health platform for the Asian community. Motivated by personal experience, she is passionate about addressing the inequality and lack of cultural relevance in mental health interventions. 🎉 That’s a Wrap on This Year’s National Convention! 🎉 We’re so grateful for the diverse voices and perspectives that made this event truly special. Patrick McIlveen, M.Ed., a DE&I Specialist and ally, shared: "As a non-Asian DE&I Specialist and ally, I greatly valued being able to attend the workshops and learn. There was so much valuable information for ERGs, professionals, and individuals in general, focusing on well-being." Thank you to everyone who contributed to this incredible experience. We’re already looking forward to 2025!
