SIHI Sweden is a hub in the international network Social Innovation in Health Initiative (SIHI) located at Uppsala University, Sweden. SIHI Sweden aims to conduct and promote interdisciplinary research on social innovation for health by connecting researchers, students, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and implementers in the private and public sector, civil society, and non-profits, and to advocate for systemic shifts needed to achieve health for all. SIHI Sweden arranges an annual conference with a focus on different aspects of social innovation in health.

A big thank you to all of you who took part in our designathon for youth mental health yesterday. A special thank you to all the youth who came and contributed with your very valuable thoughts and perspectives on how it is to be young today and what ideas actually works. We are so impressed with all the ideas that came up in this two-hour workshop! 🎉 👏 We are very excited to share with you the finalist team - The buddy bus! The buddy bus hosts a ‘trained listener’ and fika - it’s a place for young people in Uppsala to vent about anything! The judges found this idea to be feasible, versatile, and potentially interesting to local stakeholders. 💡 Interested in developing this idea further? We are hosting a second workshop to build on to this idea. Reach out if you would like to innovate further with us! Vad kan man göra för att förbättra den psykiska hälsan bland unga i Uppsala? För att fånga upp nya idéer hålls idag ett så kallat designathon där forskare och ett trettiotal unga från Uppsala försöker hitta på nya innovationer. En grupp föreslår att psykisk hälsa ska vara ett obligatoriskt ämne i skolan. En annan grupp har hittat på appen ”act go” som ska göra det lättare att hitta på aktiviteter med andra. Två andra grupper tycker det borde finnas stödgrupper för unga som mår dåligt. De föreslår en lösning i stil med AA-möten, fast där man delar med sig av sina erfarenheter av att må dåligt. Denna metod kallas för crowdsourcing och är ett sätt att få in fler perspektiv och nya idéer. Själva övningen är en del av en konferens som ordnas av SIHI Sweden (Social Innovation in Health) i samverkan med Joe Tucker SESH @Social Entrepreneurship to Spur Health).
