Sonara is a healthcare technology company on a mission to end the opioid epidemic and save lives!

About us

Sonara® is on a mission to support OTP patients, with a remote dosing solution that makes it easier for people with opioid use disorder to commit to their methadone treatment programs, so they can get their lives back. Our Virtual Dosing Window™ allows patients to record their take-homes by using a phone or computer to scan the QR code on their methadone bottles, and then recording a video of themselves dosing for their care team to review. This patented solution helps build trust between OTP patients and their care teams, empowering clinics with real-time insights to make informed treatment decisions. Sonara also increases patients’ likelihood of earning more take homes, which in turn improves program retention rates. Sonara provides OTPs with the confidence they need to approve more take-home doses responsibly, to improve the quality of life for patients and expand treatment accessibility for those who live farther away from clinics. Notable investors in Sonara include Mark Cuban and First Trust Capital. With Sonara, OTP patients can achieve their treatment goals without putting their lives on hold. • Almost none of the work we do at Sonara would be possible without the support of partners who align with our mission of making methadone accessible. If you're interested in partnering with us, here's how you can get involved: 👉 Policymakers: Advocate for policies that enable sustainable reimbursement and equitable access to methadone treatment. 👉 Payors: Collaborate with us to see how Sonara can increase treatment retention and cost savings, then update your OTP fee schedules to incorporate reimbursement for remote therapeutic monitoring 👉 Researchers: Partner with Sonara on a clinical study to demonstrate the efficacy of remotely observed methadone dosing. Together, we can safely remove barriers to methadone treatment and improve outcomes in the process. Ready to learn more? Get in touch today at https://lnkd.in/eZGVWNXG

  • Without patients and providers having a clear understanding of what the opportunities with methadone treatment are, many patients are under the assumption that methadone can’t fit into their lifestyle. In reality, as patients progress in recovery, they often qualify for take-home doses, minimizing clinic trips. With tools like Sonara, OTPs can confidently issue these take-home doses, making care more flexible while maintaining safety. Our latest blog post explores common misconceptions around methadone treatment from both a patient and provider perspective. • Although methadone has a proven track record as a treatment for Opioid Use Disorder, misconceptions remain. For example, many providers believe patients aren’t interested in methadone as an OUD treatment option. However, if given the choice, many patients would actually prefer methadone over buprenorphine. In our latest blog, we break down a few of the most common myths surrounding methadone treatment and their implications for patients and providers. • The holiday season can be joyful, but for those in recovery from Opioid Use Disorder (OUD), it may also bring challenges and additional stress. Here are some ways you can support loved ones in recovery during the holidays: 🌟 Create a Safe & Supportive Environment: Let them know it’s okay to set boundaries and prioritize self-care 🌟 Be Mindful of Potential Triggers: Holiday gatherings can bring up past emotions or stressors. If they are comfortable, ask them about their triggers and help create strategies to navigate social situations 🌟 Encourage Healthy Routines: Staying active, eating well, and prioritizing sleep can make a difference during the chaos of the holiday season 🌟 Prepare for Setbacks: If you know a patient in an Opioid Treatment Program (OTP), remember that their care team is a valuable resource. Understand that relapse can happen, and it’s important not to approach it with judgment 🌟 Encourage Utilizing Mental Health Support: If your loved one is facing mental health challenges over the holidays, recommend they check in with their OTP care team or use their insurance provider directory to find a counselor or therapist. Learn more about how to support your recovering loved one in our latest blog https://buff.ly/40ujGSC

Opioid settlement funds present a unique opportunity to drive innovation within OTPs. Rather than seeing these funds only as tools for supporting ongoing efforts, settlement dollars can and should be leveraged to implement cutting-edge solutions that improve patient care, outcomes, and long-term recovery.
