Congratulations to Silko Volkswagen on the grand opening of their new dealership in Easton! South Shore Bank is proud to serve as a banking partner for this great client and we were happy to celebrate this milestone last night in their beautiful new space. Adam Silverleib, President of Silko Auto Group, gave a toast that paid tribute to the heritage of his family's business while ushering in the next generation as he passed the honor of cutting the ribbon to his daughter, Abby. We look forward to continuing our support of Silko Auto Group as they continue to expand their business. Last week, the banking partnership between South Shore Bank and client, Road to Responsibility, grew stronger through way of a meaningful morning at the Bank headquarters in Weymouth. We had the great pleasure of welcoming members of the RTR program through our doors for a development day full of activities to further support their mission of providing means, opportunity, and the support necessary to allow citizens with disabilities to take their place as productive members of the community. Employees from various departments of the Bank came together to conduct mock interviews, resume reviews, headshot photoshoots, a financial literacy presentation, and a Q&A session where participants could ask about different departments of the Bank's operations. The participants left with a wealth of banking knowledge and our team also learned so much from the incredible individuals of Road to Responsibility. We couldn't forget to mention another great client of ours, Main Street Pizza, who catered a luncheon to top the day off. Thank you to Nikki Corbo, Marketing Specialist, and all who participated in making this event possible! As #BlackHistoryMonth comes to an end, we're given a great opportunity to look back at all the meaningful ways our Black Professionals and Allies employee resource group brought our organization together throughout February. They hosted multiple Lunch and Learn sessions where open dialogues were held to review powerful Black films that provide context for success in the workplace today. A company-wide crossword challenge was held with the focus of historical figures and milestones in Black culture. Finally, the festivities were concluded with a celebration event featuring educational games, traditional foods, and an opportunity to unite our employees in good fun and company. The event didn't miss a beat as Ren Cato, Senior Business Banker, transitioned to his other profession of DJ Ren! Supporting our employees and building a strong company culture are important pillars for us as we #ShareSuccess with our clients. The James Beard America's Classics Award is a prestigious accolade given to locally and independently owned restaurants with timeless appeal and beloved in their region for food that reflects the character and cultural traditions of its community. When thinking of what this award embodies, it is clear that Sullivan's Castle Island, South Boston, a local staple that has been cherished in the community for nearly a century, is the perfect fit for this achievement. Sullivan's Castle Island is a proud business client of the Bank, and we are proud to celebrate them on this very deserving award. Read the full scoop here on Boston.com: https://lnkd.in/eRfdgw_e If you're already daydreaming about summer, you'll be excited to hear that Sullivan's in South Boston is open for the season on March 1st! And if you just can't wait until then for your favorite Sully's classics, they're open year-round at their Hanover Crossing location. Visit their profile for hours and more information.
