⛵️Hoist the colours This weekend, the U.S. SailGP Team debuted their brand new ‘Liberty Marine’ F50 boat design as they finished in third place at the Rolex SailGP Championships in Dubai. The innovative new design is part of SPORTFIVE’s ongoing work with the United States #SailGP Team and calls upon influences from an iconic American Symbol, the Statue of Liberty, to showcase the team’s commitment to inspiring a new generation of American dreamers and athletes. Growing the women’s game ⚽️ The Football Association have recently announced their new women’s and girl’s game strategy, which outlines their priorities to continue working to unlock the full potential of women’s football in England over the next four years. SPORTFIVE’s Managing Director UK & President Global Sales, Carl Woodman has been working with the governing body as part of his role on The Greater Manchester Women’s Football Board - a group of organisations working to develop women’s football in one of our SPORTFIVE hubs: Manchester. Incredibly important work to help ensure that football is an inclusive game for everyone.
Last year I had the great privilege of joining the Greater Manchester Women’s Football Board, a unique group of national and local organisations committed to a shared mission; accelerating the growth of women and girls' football in Greater Manchester, tackling inequalities, and increasing opportunities to access the game. As part of the board’s work with The Football Association, I was delighted to see the FA’s new ‘Reaching Higher: Women’s and Girl’s Game Strategy 2024-2028' announced recently. The strategy aims to build on the transformational success already achieved and strives to continue working to unlock the full potential of the women’s and girls’ game. I’m looking forward to working with the other members of the Board to support The FA on their strategy and continue to improve the game for women and girls here in Greater Manchester.
