👀 SSUCHY-Next at UNIgreen 🤝 50 people attended the presentation of the environmental and economic stakes of SSUCHY-Next during the webinar “valorisation and protection of your research and innovations” organized by UNIgreen. 🔎 UNIgreen is an Alliance of eight Higher Education Institutions (including Bioeconomy For Change’s member SupBiotech, l'école des ingénieurs en biotechnologies) that are committed to promoting excellence in education, research and innovation in the fields of Sustainable Agriculture, Green Biotechnology, and Environmental and Life Sciences. 🤝 Meet SSUCHY-Next project partner: EcoTechnilin 🔎 Established in 1998 by a local farmers' cooperative in France, EcoTechnilin was founded with a mission to enhance the use of short fibers from the textile industry. Over the years, the company diversified its portfolio and expanded its operations, merging with start-up Linéo to provide a comprehensive range of composite products. To further support customer growth, EcoTechnilin opened a new facility in Poland, enabling better access for clients in Eastern Europe. Known for innovations like FlaxTape®, a unidirectional fiber product, EcoTechnilin has become a recognized name in the natural fiber composites industry. 🌱 Within the SSUCHY-Next project, EcoTechnilin will leverage its expertise to develop in the project and develop a similar product based on hemp fibre as well as produce some more traditional non-woven materials. 🌍 Discover a key partner of the SSUCHY-Next project: KU Leuven, our coordinator 🌱 🔎 KU Leuven leads the way in education, research, and innovation in sustainability. Based in Leuven, Belgium, this university has about 40 years of background in the research on composite materials and a long-standing expertise in the field of Life Cycle Analysis. 🚀 KU Leuven will coordinate the project, and leverage the expertise of: Its researchers on bio-composite materials to work on improving the moisture durability and fibre-matrix compatibility for the new bio-composites, under the supervision of Aart Willem van Vuure.
