Last year at this time, instead of decorating her home for the holidays, Monica* was living in her car. And that wasn’t the worst part. She was separated from the most important person in the entire world – her son. “To be separated from my only child was huge for me. I had never been away from him before. He was in good hands, but nobody cares for your child like you do,” said Monica. Thankfully Monica came across information for Beans & Bread, St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore’s homeless day resource center. Beans & Bread serves as a lifeline for people at times of crisis or need. It is a place in which they feel welcome. They feel heard. And they feel hope. Two months later, Monica was accepted into our rapid re-housing program. Soon after, she signed the lease, got her keys and moved into a new apartment – with her son. After being apart for over a year, Monica and her son were finally together again, in their own home. “We can make dinner together and watch movies and decorate for the holidays. That is what is important,” said Monica. At SVDP, we have an extensive range of shelter and housing services to help those facing homelessness receive care, support, and hope for the future. With your support, we can keep families together for the holiday season, and beyond! Click the link to donate today: https://lnkd.in/eWwy-GTv

The Legacy team took some time this morning to assemble sandwiches, bag almost 100 lunches, and deliver to St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore for their Beans & Bread Resource Center.
