Founder Mode: NYC Holiday Edition What we did in <24-hrs and what it taught us about building a business: 🤓 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 Swapped ideas over lunch with fellow portfolio companies revolutionizing industries—from address verification in emerging markets to tableware reimagination and real estate renal market tech enablement. Proof that stepping outside your bubble is where the best ideas live. 👶 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝-𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 Talked with other mother-founders about weekend childcare and how parenthood sharpens our ability to be ruthlessly efficient while still dreaming big. 🎨 𝐓𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 Met with our powerhouse design/marketing duo Marlena Sarunac and Lubna (Sarwat) Hameed to toast their work on our gorgeous new website—proof that small, mighty women-led teams can make magic. 📚 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 Covered everything from book recommendations and favorite interview questions with women transforming healthcare, mixing mentorship and friendship in the best of ways. ❤️ 𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐔𝐩 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 Listened to Dr. Jayne Morgan, M.D. of Hello Heart and @Christine D’Ercole of Peloton Interactive deliver electrifying messages on taking up space and giving women a voice in heart health. A reminder of why Systole Health exists: to empower women to take control of their heart health. 👊 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐕𝐂 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 At a holiday party hosted by Ken Chenault Jr and John Monagle - investors building an extraordinary community as much as they are helping build companies - we heard from titans of industry and their optimism for "opportunity amidst the chaos" over the next four years. This trip reminded me and Lauren McConnell that being a founder is about more than building a business. It’s about community and human connection. Thank You for Joining Our Webinar! We had a fantastic session discussing ways to recognize risks and protect heart health during our webinar, "Women's Heart Health 101" led by Simin Gharib Lee. With over 50 registrants, we were thrilled by the turnout and deeply grateful for the thoughtful questions shared during the Q&A. One of the most eye-opening moments came from our live poll, where 80% of participants shared that they had experienced chest pain but were told it was not heart-related—a powerful reminder of the importance of raising awareness and advocating for women’s heart health. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this important conversation. It’s an honor to connect and support women in their journey toward lifelong heart health! ❤️ #HeartHealth #WomensHealth #SystoleHealth #HeartAwareness #Education

Systole Health reposted this
The tech/VC world is buzzing about Forward winding down. But the real primary care earthquake this week? Not in the Carepods—it’s right in real-world healthcare’s backyard. At Mass General Brigham, one of the largest health systems in the country (and where I still practice), we learned this week that hundreds of our primary care colleagues are moving to unionize. Days later, news broke that 10 of 13 physicians at a primary care practice in our system are leaving, threatening to shutter the practice altogether and throwing 15k patients' care in limbo. This is a critical signal of the severe access challenges we face in the era of provider shortages. Overworked, overscheduled, and undervalued, physicians are being pushed to their limits—and beyond. Despite investments in NPs and PAs, unsustainable demands remain, and the burden falls on patients who are left waiting months for care—even in states like ours, with numerous health systems. This strain is only set to worsen for specialties like cardiology, where routine conditions such as hypertension and high cholesterol—typically managed by PCPs—are likely to land in cardiology offices, clogging capacity and reducing access to specialized care. Women, already more likely to delay care, are particularly at risk as supply-side issues grow. This is why we're doing what we do at Systole Health: partnering with providers to not only survive but also scale, even at what feels like a tipping point for healthcare. If you're part of a health system looking to expand access to heart health without overburdening your teams, let's talk. #providershortage #physicianburnout #virtualcare #groupcare #healthcareinnovation

As we head to the HLTH USA conference, where Dr. Jill Biden, Chelsea Clinton, and Halle Berry will speak on the future of women's health, we’re reminded of the critical role heart health plays in women’s lives. Heart disease continues to be the leading cause of death for women. At Systole Health, we’re addressing this over-looked issue by providing scalable group virtual care focused on proactive prevention through lifestyle change and comprehensive management of heart disease risk factors. Our goal is to expand access to care and empower women to take control of their heart health. If you’re attending HLTH, our founders Dr. Simin Gharib Lee and Lauren McConnell would love to connect and discuss how our innovative model is making a difference. Check out our (new and improved!) site at www.systolehealth.com to learn more. #HLTH2024 #WomensHealth #HeartHealth #VirtualCare
